New thing to try. Never done any real "carving" before. I just release what is in wood. It may be a while before you see what I come up with. Anyone else here carve? If so please share it.
This will be interesting, lol.

Sundown

I was not pleased with my first effort, however I was more interested in learning to use the new tools, the feel of the, depth, and porportion. I still have a long way to go on all of it. I did show it to some people at work and they seemed to think it was a good first effort, I think they were just being nice, lol. I am as always my own worst critic.

Cool, Sundown.  I like the way it is a more natural looking carving than a lot of tree stump carvings.  It looks like it really is a spirit staring out of a live tree as opposed to being overly stylized.

Definately different, time will tell where this goes. Carving is very soothing although tedious.
Sundown

I like it!

He does look a bit cranky, kind of reminds me of me
Sundown

Well then you must be one cute crank!

Not really, just a short ugly cotton patch old crank!

Beauty is far deeper than hide is deep!

One more time, lol. Computer crazy here (like me). Been sick tired stessed then lo and behold I sit and carve. Stress falls away. Carving still sucks but will get there. Just the second try and it has a long way to go.
