I just wanted to recommend this site: Earth Clinic

The site has a wonderful collection of home remedies that are cheap and effective.  What I really like about the site is that people can talk about their experience with trying the remedy, including effectiveness, side effects, and other issues.

Some of the more interesting information relates to health remedies using coconut oil, baking soda, apple cider vinegar, white wine vinegar.  Additionally, the site talks about "oil pulling," which I've decided to try for a month to see who it works for me.

I saw under sore throat remedies they had pickle brine.  They know their stuff, my mama always told me to eat a pickle if I thought I was coming down with a sore throat.  Eating a pickle at that first scratchy irritation can knock it right out before it actually gets sore.
