Ok.  So I've had a couple of glasses of vino.  I need your input.  I've never had a tatoo and I want one....bad.  I just don't know how to choose the right one.   I know it needs to be something that means a lot to me or states who I am.  Other friends have given their input.  Now I'm asking you.
Just to let you know a little about me.
I'm Aquarius, birthstone is amethyst...duh.  I love purple and blue.  I'm Christian who loves a Pagan....would have to know me to understand that one.  Where I practice my religion does.  Thus, my avatar, "of kindred spirits".
I love nature, especially trees.  I used to go deer hunting, but have let many go by because I enjoyed more to watch them than shoot them.  Don't get me wrong, I eat venison.
I just enjoy more than anything to sit in my stand and listen to the trees early in the morning or late in the evening.  I've always been enchanted by the forests.  I see faces in trees.  No, I'm not crazy.  Or maybe I am.  Who cares.
I'll be 50 in 2009.  I'm Nanna to two grandsons.  I love all music, mostly 60's - 70's rock and roll, Jazz, some country, and of course, all Celtic.
I'm thinking of getting a Celtic Cross....where I don't know.  Don't want any color on it though, just black or charcoal.  My favorite flower is peony.
Ok, I think I just solved my problem.  Talking it out has helped as it does many times when I put it onto paper or into words.
I am enjoying the beautiful full moon, lit a new candle and burning incense.
Ok, I warned you....2 glasses of wine.  I've said too much already.
Blessings to all.

Hehe, I came up with a cool idea of a Tree of Life with a Celtic Cross in the trunk.  *Shrugs* I thought I'd throw that idea at ya.  Sounds like you came up with your own idea already though.

As for where to get it, upper arm I found to be the least painful and easy to cover up, shoulder blade is also a good idea if you want a place you can cover up, but I dont have one on the shoulder blade so I couldnt tell you if its more or less sensitive.

I've chosen mine by reviewing the themes in life that have stayed with me, even through life changes. I've had tattoos for over 10 years and have never regretted any of them.

upper arm band not so bad, very prominent place to display a theme and yet easily covered if need be.
back, hip, butt, thigh tattoos are hard to display, gotta stop a friend and say "hey, look", but more easily concealed.
um, around the nipple hurts the worst  Shocked

mine are star/moon themed, number of stars happened to end up corresponding to the members in my family, blue/purples/yellow in each = easily coordinated to each other. you can think of a theme, then customize it to represent something if you'd like, that way you honor those you'd like to without have names written all over your body and that kind of thing.

tattoo artists will be happy to draw up a sketch (called "flash") for you to help materialize you ideas. they're quick at it, it's changable, and usually free in hopes they get your biz. it's what they do, use em!

cheers!

Thanks for your ideas.  I know it will be perfect when I get it.
Probably should have put this in "Out of Bounds" cuz I think that's where I went.
My apology to any offended.  I need to remember not to post while imbibing.   Embarassed

And there is something wrong with seeing faces in trees? LOL  Laughing
You will find what fits you. I am still looking for my second one. Without color, greyscale makes a nice tattoo, thats what mine is.

Blessings
