Hi All,

"We are our own Saviors"....words by Jethro Tull in "Wond'ring Aloud." Truer words cannot be said. In these desperate times as the economic world crashes around us, we need to look within to find strength and solace in the fact that this is only a speed-bump in the road of life. It is a journey we chose, and one we will have to get through - no "bailing" on this one. No turning around. We will muck through it, albeit kicking and screaming all the way.

Personally I feel it is part of the change in consciousness that the Aquarian Age is bringing us. We need a new way of governing the whole planet. The problems we face today are bigger than any single country.

"Man is himself God, for he consists of and is the creator of "the forces". Man needs only to awaken to this fact. The only discontinuity between man and "God" is our Ignorance of the unlimited potential in us already. Man creates his own reality. Absolute truth is replaced by subjective experiences.

The cosmology (the nature of the world and universe) is pantheistic, which means that everything that exists is of one essence, and that one essence is God. Everything is expressed in a different form of that same essence (energy, consciousness, power, love. force). So all the universe is in the state of God"

Spoken by a good friend, they capture what I am trying to say.

Giving birth to a new life is painful, intense and amazing...and so it is with what is happening with our world at this moment.

The worst (and best) is yet to come....

Wow...

On this very topic, LE, there is a 2 hour movie that may shed some light on this.

I urge everyone to take 2 hours out ofyour day.  It opens as many questions as it answers, but it gets one to think critically.

Please spare some time and watch.  It would make for a great discussion thread.

Interesting thoughts, Lady Elaine.

I am actually concerned that the global consciousness is not occurring as it should, and this is the reason for all of the tension and negative energy globally.

I know and feel in my own limited way the world is undergoing drastic changes, and that these changes will profoundly affect existence. What I am seeing is people uselessly fighting against the change.  On one hand, you have people who have benefited so much from the old regime that they are doing the most to halt the change and mislead people so as to remain in power and wealth.  On the other hand, I am seeing most people so desperate for stability that they fear and fight against all change.

I am frightened that too few people will make this "consciousness shift" before we are faced with whatever monumental events will begin our next phase as predicted by so many "New Agers."

There are times I just want to become a hermit and move to a mountain top.

Stacey, you are so right.....the majority will fight any change because the old regime has given them the illusion of security.
Those of us living far outside the centres of power in the world have seen this coming for decades now.
That just a few powerful countries enjoy an artificially high standard of living at the expense of everyone else (which is exactly what happened for most of the 20th century) was plainly unsustainable.
It has resulted in a world population that is far too large, exacerbated by religious beliefs that encourage indiscriminate breeding, and medical technology that means the surivial of many that are not good for our "gene pool".
Almost everything that western society has done in the last several hundred years has been directed to the acquisition of money at others' expense, and the moving away from the natural processes that keep the species healthy.
These days, being objective and realistic about these matters is condemned as "heartless", "callous" and the like, or one is accused of advocating a form of genocide.
We are the only species on this world with the intellect to choose our path. We have chosen the path to annihilation, and if we do not depart from it, we will cease to be.
The pity of it is that the innocent will perish with us, but then humakind has a penchent for sacrificing others for its own ideas, ideals or short term subjective wellbeing.'

But there is hope..... Whether we are aware of it or not, every thought and action of all life, trembles the Web. More and more of us, even in our hemisphere, are getting in touch with reality and trying to live in accordance with it.
We ARE having an effect, as the ravings of the fundamentalists, both political and religious, plainly illustrate.
What you are seeing is the begginning of the death throes of the political and spritual vice that we have been in for the last three millennia.
It will be a painful and traumatic time. I can only hope that what is born of it will be wiser, gentler, more compassionate and loving that what has gone before.
It can be so, if we stay the course, keep to our principles (even when the cost is dire), and refuse the short term expedients that are the ruin of good personal philosophies.

Courage, my brothers and sisters. The road will be hard and long (generations long), but what we do and think now will be the legacy of those that follow....... we can do it!.

May the hand of our Lady rest always lightly on you, and Her light fill your lives always.

Just call it as I see it, Novia.
I am full of optimism, because I can see the almost unlimited potential of our species.
There is nothing we cannot do if we set our minds to it. The trick is going to be setting our minds to that which enhances us as a species, enhances the wellbeing of every other species that we have not already made extinct, and treats our Mother, the Earth with the respect that a patient and loving parent deserves.

We can do it, I know we can..... All we have to do is open our eyes, hearts and minds to reality and decide, en masse, to do it.
It is in places like this that I find so many dedicated to that aim, in one way or another. The growing "Green" political movement is trending that way, too. They will, with time. expand their view to matters other than Carbon Footprints and Genetic Engineering, and their influence will add power to our cause.
