Living for something isn't the same as living for living's sake

Living for someone isn't the same as being alone. Really though, I like being alone. I walk outside in my yard, watch my giant maple bloom in Autumn's fiery shades, and know true contentment. But then, I do live for something, and I do live for someone. Being alone does not exclude those two paths anymore than being blond excludes a woman from being 'fun'. The two are not canceling energies.

I do not wander about my own life like a person without will, echoing what they hear from the media or other people like so many parrots. Though I don't hate them, I feel sad thinking of them and what this lack of clarity has led to in the world. Those of us with will are not without blame, but perhaps we were too few to turn the tide one way or another. I do not know; I only contemplate. To not question, to not criticize, to not think is the greatest wrong to do to our minds, for we were given this mind from the God and Goddess themselves and so should not abuse the gift given to us freely and without constraints.

Even if some of us make airs like lords themselves and try to wrap chains and constraints around us using books and words. A powerful spell in it's own right, but one, ironically, that no true witch of the white or gray paths would ever wield. Free will being considered a gift of the gods to us and therefore sacred.

I do not pause in the middle of the road and wonder, 'Who would I die to protect?' I know this answer well and have since I was young. I will die to protect those of my blood, and that is not only family. I will die to protect a child. Those are my absolutes that I have sworn before the God and Goddess many times. There are worse absolutes in this life.

Money is the biggest liar, but also the biggest motivator. More often than not, you could literally own someone by the green bills in your hand and the smooth words of a born liar. Politicians, are an obviously example. Of both the manipulator and the manipulated. But this world is not a hero tale. There will be no mountainous tide of people to life swords to the sky and decry the actions of the powerful in one voice. Wake up; you were having a one minute dream.

But stay strong, stay alert; let no outside influence crowd your mind. A quote to paint a clearer picture-"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." -Buddha. Remember this, and always pause when you hear something extrapolated as opinion or fact to reach down into your heart, to that part of you that makes the back of your neck prickle when someone is watching you, and search for that deep, cool spot inside your mind to see what those three councilmen say before agreeing or disagreeing. Allow no one to sneer at you for your reply. Allow no one to bully you one way or another.

If we could multiply the above by 250 million, we could change much in this world-and likely for the better.

Thank you for your contemplation, LuolaKT.

It brought some clarity into a situation I am now in, and for this I thank you.

Many blessings

I'm glad it helped, in any way Smile

I just felt the urge to write where others can see. My instincts continue to be fairly apt I see. I'm glad ^-^

Well, my dear, you can share your contemplations with us anytime.  You have much to teach us all.
