We've just made it through Halloween, hopefully many of you joined a party and became some wild character for the night.
It's the perfect time to talk about masking! When I think of masking in regard to trying to uncover the "real" person inside of someone, I see it almost like peeling layers from each of their chakras. Layers sometimes are identical to what looks metaphorically like a Halloween Mask, underneath all of the cover-up is the authentic person. From this uncovered vantage point we begin to understand the psychological makeup because we have the true story of the character we are viewing--we are able to get to know the real person.
Here's an example of what a mask over each of the major chakras may look like:
Over the 1st Chakra, Someone gloating about how rich he/she is; underneath the mask he/she is in financial uproar.
Over the 2nd Chakra: Outwardly experiencing a flirting female; unmasked, we may find her to be emotionally cold or void of sensual intimacy.
Over the 3rd Chakra, A boss talking down to an employee because he/she can; underneath the mask may be a boss who doesn't feel powerful.
Over the 4th chakra: Someone saying they love someone, underneath the mask, they are unhappy, possibly self-trashing and may not even like the particular person they say they love.
Over the 5th Chakra: A seemingly shy person; unmasking, we may find he or she does not speak very much because perhaps they shut down their fifth chakra when they were with a controlling partner, perhaps a pattern was formed to stay covered-up for safety purposes, by using a soft-spoken voice. remaining unable to clearly communicate.
Over the 6h Chakra, A battered woman who intuitively knows her partner will not change, underneath the mask she is afraid of change or being alone--a lack of clearly seeing options.
Over the 7th Chakra, A Messiah Complex, underneath the mask we may find fear of connection to truth entirely and/or self-connection to The Divine.
When calling for a reading on 12Listen or 12Angel, and say, you want to look at the possibility of how a relationship will work, our job is to look at the authentic person, unmasked, the true desires or intentions. Some of us as readers may not go by "chakras" but really we are all getting to the same vantage point, we are looking at the authentic self--the person beneath the mask. When we see that place we offer the clearest readings possible, all for the purpose of clarity to assist with choices and decisions in order to make proper path choices.
A really great time for a reading may even be after a first date, when you are really liking the person. On first dates, you are getting to know someone for the first time. Stories are avoided, stories may be embellished. Simply, sometimes masks are used in order to feel safe in the getting to know each other process, we unmask when we know we are liked. As readers, we will sometimes look at the energy of the person and get a psychic hit on whether they seem healthy and ready for a steady relationship, and whether someone looks like the right one for you.
Masks are also worn frequently by wounded individuals, but it is always a good idea to reach beneath the masks in order to fully understand a person, especially if you are a good friend. Healing will come from being seen and heard, and then, finding ways to better the self in the particular area that is feeling a deficit. Once again, if you are unsure as to how to help a friend where they are wounded, ask us! We can intuitively look at ways to help your friend heal and build for themselves a better psychological make-up.
Your friend happens to be your partner, but he or she doesn't want to unmask in order to solve an issue between you? Perhaps your partner is coming across as blaming instead of taking any of the responsibility for the situation? This mask will look like a metaphoric "cover-up."
