Sorry, I just had to share this...

With it being full moon, I decided to try my very first spell... well, I wanted to make a talisman out of an old ring to protect me. I blessed and consecrate it in the four elements, followed my a small spell that I had written. Well, to ensure it was blessed and infused with the magic to help protect me (especially since I just bought a motorcycle) I wanted to write the incantation on a piece of paper and burn it, and I placed it in my cauldron to try and keep smoke down to a minimum. Attempt failed. As soon as I placed the lid over the cauldron the fire alarm screamed.     Both of my roommates came running to the rescue. "Where's the fire!?!?  Call 9-1-1!" Lol. It was epic. I'm just thankful they know bc it would have been even more embarrassing. Well, at least I could grant the Goddess and God a good laugh.  

Oh Goodness sounds like quiet the adventure you've had tonight! LOL

Tip:  cut your paper for spells into smaller squares that burn fast with less smoke. 3x3 usually works for me because it is symbolic of the Goddess.

I camp a lot, so I just fold them up real small and put them in a paper bag, and when I go camping burn them all at once and safely! hahaha.  
don't get discouraged though, we all have some funny stories about first times.
