Ok this is something off the top of my head. Any and all input appreciated.

Now I konw the fundamentals of Feng Shui. I understand the concept of thought energy effecting reality. But.....

How does the physical condition of a given area of our house effect life?

Example. I know that my bathroom, of all the goddessawful places, is the energy point of money. Also, the computer table are is the real life point of money, as this is where I do bills, etc. so, if both of these areas get into diarray, is that not a posssible cause for my life finanaces to be in disarray?

Also meaning that if I clean and organize these places, my life finances may well follow?

I'm not an expert, but that sounds about like what I've read on it.  Also consider anything that is in need of repair (or is beyond repair and needs to be replaced, or just plain done away with).  These are all symbols of the clutter in our lives, and what may be in "disrepair".  Think about how you feel when your house is cluttered up.  I think that we are affected very strongly on a subconscious level by any clutter in our homes, no matter where it is.  (I may not be a pristine housekeeper, but I do get nervous when my house is messy).  You can't relax, you can't focus, all you see is this mess that needs to be put into order, and anything you do IN that mess is affected BY that mess.  (even if it is a small thing.)  There are certain things in my house (i.e. my altar) that even if ONE thing is out of place, I get really weird.  (I'm sorry, but I just can't deal with mr. K's ciggys on my altar).
So, if I'm way off track, let me know...

on the nose.

I used to clean house for, and work with a gal who was coming out of a severe bout of depression. Her house was a disaster. Running 2 business, and collecting for the needy, out of one, one level house. Clutter is no where near the condition that house was always in! I used to tell her, clutter fries the brain. if the eyes can see it, the brain HAS to process it, ALL of it!!!  so in that I do believe whole heartedly.

The question still remeains, does it effect that which is represents?

If you are having family troubles, and the portion of your house representative of family either the portion designated in feng shui, or say, the family room, or wherever it is family used to, or does still, gather, is a wreck, could that be the reason behond the wreck your family is in?

Feng Shui seems to have started from a logical viewpoint.  If the kitchen represents the wealth of the house (as manifested in the abundance of food that keeps the household alive and well), and that is cluttered, then the food tends to rot, or be unorganized, causing spillage or loss, then the wealth is "lost" or "wasted".  I suppose there would be a great amount of energy in relation to such a belief.  The same goes nowadays for us.  Certain rooms symbolize certain things for us, like the bedroom, for example, which represents love and sex, and if that is a mess, then, our relationships suffer (mine does if the laundry isn't done...lol) through arguements over clean linens or stumbling over your partner's hapless shoes/discarded jeans, etc.
I guess, then, that I believe in it from a more practical standpoint.  I may not be the clean queen, but I do believe there is peace in cleanliness in all aspects of life.

I can tell you that I used to live in a mobile home that I shared with my stepdaughter, her husband, and their four children for three months.  I can tell you that from the time that they moved in I was a disaster as was most of my life.  I was stressed and overeating.  I am bipolar and this situation just caused too much chaos because everywhere you went there were kids, toys, or people.

I moved last weekend with only a weeks notice and have found that even though I am still unpacking, I feel 100% better.  I am calmer.  I feel like doing things around the house.  My animals are happier because I am happier.

I do believe that chaos in a house causes chaos in your life.

I must agree with you all on this as well.   I've never thought of it this way before.  Thanks, Novia, for bringing this to my attention.  From now on, at least I'll understand it.  I do like for my apartment to be clean and uncluttered and I do notice a difference in how I feel and in every aspect of my life when it isn't.

When I do a major re-organizer, I tend to take a lot of breaks in between, drink a lot of coca-cola and play upbeat music.  It keeps my motivation up.
Since you are reorganizing your money center, perhaps you could give yourself a motivational push, by getting yourself some type of money symbol (i.e. a cute little frog, or in some cultures a pig) that you can set in that area when you are all finished cleaning it.  (Don't forget to give it a good smudge! Smile )

Went out and got me some new pretties for the bathroom. Getting rid of alot of the seasheely stuff. Found a nice motivational set, Love, Faith, Hope, Peace, Comapassion. Think KuanYin is going to have a new home in there. Seems fiting for her, and she's not been happy where she is located of late.

A good cleaning/painting is also in order. And yes, def a good smudging.

As far as the computer area goes, a good cleaning/organizing/dolling up/cleansing is far far far overdue for it!

I also have to watch the fact that the ferret cage is right next to it, and it's cleanliness efffects the overall energy flow around it. (Seems all my money areas have toilet issues, lol.)

you know I do think that they affect each other... but I think they affect each other both ways, if the house is a wreck your life will become a wreck... but sometime if your life's already a wreck it makes it that much harder to try and keep order in the house. maybe making a concious effort to fix it anyways will do me some good... thanks for the food for thought... now I'm off to rent a bulldozer to cut a path through my bedroom... lmao

when things started to disintegrate between my parents, their house just became a mess. you could see what was happening to the family by observing the suffering conditions of the house. sad thing to see, and be able to observe, coming home once a month or so.

i know when i can't cope, or have no idea how to get a grip on a situation, i clean. lots of folding, organizing, and scrubbing. i cleaned a lot last week. i like the idea of a good smudging novia - i'm gonna go clean house today.
