Hello all,

I just did a 'Relationship Reading'. I'm not sure if anyone here is aware of the relationship card spread? But I was hoping for another opinion on the reading. I'm not very adept at tarot reading (I'm still trying my hand out at it) so any guidance would definitely be appreciated.

Here is what I got (position of card is numbered next to what card I drew, R is reversed).

1. 9 Wands - what you are bringing into the relationship
2. Justice (R) - where you are in the relationship
3. Knight of Sword - what you are hoping to get out of the relationship
4. 7 of Coins (Pentacles) (R) - what the other person is brining
5. Chariot (R) - where they are
6. Moon (R) - what they are hoping to experience/get out of it
7. 7 Swords (R) - how you see the other person
8. Hermit - how they see you
9. 10 Wands - how you saw them when you first met
10. Magician (R) - how they saw you when you first met
11. 8 Wands - your fears
12. 3 Swords - their fears
13 10 Coins - what influence are at play over you
14 Queen Cups - their influences
15. Lovers - where the relationship is going.

I won't write down how I read it yet in case it influences your reading, but afterwards I'll write down my interpretation and see how it is with the others...

Thanks in advance!!

Blessed be,

Annwyn

I would love to help you if I get time, and maybe I can look through these later to see what I come up with, however, for now, look at each card in turn and write down how it makes you feel.  Look at the symbolism and try to relate it to yourself.  For instance, what do you see in nine of wands?  What is your FIRST impression?  Write it down.  Then go through all of the cards in this way, writing down how they make you feel.  When you finish, relate those impressions with the card positions.  For instance, if the nine of wands makes you feel like "I'm doing all the work", write that down.  Then when you go back and check it with it's positional meaning, "What do you bring into the relationship?", you will see that you are bringing in much of the work of the relationship, or some such thing.  Got it?  (This is how I start with my readings for myself, and then if I get stuck, I go with traditional meanings.  For me, its easier, and usually right on target.)

yeah there are times when the normal meaning of a card isn't right for the moment, and some visual in the card itself rings truer, and it usually is right on.

Just by the couple I see, and regognize, doesn't look liek too bad a deal to me.

Okay, here it is:

You are bringing in the finalization of a healing process.  Just don’t forget that this is a relationship and you should leave a little room for further growth and spiritual seeking.  Healing is taking place, and it has been a long struggle to get there.  It isn’t completely over yet and you must wait for that which will make it whole.  You also bring in a sense of patience as it has taken this road to get you here.
In this relationship, there is something that makes you feel that you are caught in a web.  This can mean anything from acts of deceit to financial setbacks to karmic debt. You may have brought these over from previous relationships. You are stuck in this web watching life go by and feeling powerless to do anything about it.  Sometimes, we just have to wait it out as some things are out of our control.
“Knight in Shining Armor” comes immediately to mind as far as what you are hoping to get out of this.  (Don’t rely too much on someone else to vanquish your “enemies” for you, this is something you have to do yourself.)  Perhaps you are wishing that your partner would stand up for you, or maybe you see this person as one who does or is capable of being courageous for your sake.
As for your partner, this person seems to be a workaholic and worries a lot about the finances.  This can be a good thing as long as they don’t work themselves to death trying to make ends meet.
This person has a tendency in the relationship to fight the wrong battles. (i.e. fighting against you for the same cause)  Since this person is also very determined in their “pace” (work or cause), they often get frustrated when others can’t keep up with them (namely, you).  This person may feel as if they are not moving forward in the relationship and is getting frustrated.
This person would like for you to illuminate them.  They have trouble with their own intuition perhaps and are hoping that you can be their guiding light, or the “light at the end of the tunnel”.  Since this person has trouble looking within, they are hoping that you are the kind of person that can see inside of them and understand them as this has been an issue before.
You see this person as protective and loving, perhaps a bit “religiously” devoted, not only to you but to whatever they seek to do.
They see you as the essence of wisdom, a bit set back from society, perhaps, but one who learns by experience rather than by books.  They see a bit of the solitary mystic in you.
When you first met, you saw this person as a reward, perhaps, for all the hard work you’ve put into a healing process.  OR, maybe you thought this person was the essence of your creativity.
The other person saw you as one who was not complete in belief.  They saw you as one who didn’t have a great deal of coordination, either physically or emotionally, perhaps spiritually.
You are afraid of how fast things may be moving.
This other person is afraid that things will turn out the “way they always have” and be a great disappointment.  (But they tend to make mountains out of molehills anyhow!)
You are influenced in this relationship by the feeling of “rightness”. Everything in your life seems to be coming together for you and you are aware that any changes in your life right now are good ones.
Those things that influence your partner (or interest) are their growth and the need to nurture themselves and their environment.
This last card seems to be pretty self explanatory.  Obviously, this is leading to a greater awareness of each other as lovers.  But, it is also a card of choices and the need to make the right ones.  Again, intuition comes into play, as the choices we make must be followed through on with what feels “right”.  If it feels right, this is the right way, so go with it.

Many, many blessings for both of you!
Seamonster

Argh!!! I just wrote a long long reply and lost the whole thing!!!

So, starting again!

I feel like I'm doing a lot of the work in the relationship at the moment and that I'm carrying most of the burden. As for the healing in may be my own healing, because until I met this person I was very wary of intimate romantic relationships.

I do feel caught in a web in a way, as if I was stuck and wasn't moving forward or backwards, kind of powerless as far as where should we go from here. There does seem to be a lot of 'games' being played and a sense of shadows and something not quite being told...

You are spot on in regards to the knigh in shining armour. I do see him as a sort of protector, but not necessarily someone who has to fight my battles.

He certainly is a workaholic and is very ambitious and determined. Funnily enough his work is one of the main barriers because it may be taking him regional in a few months (not a problem for me but an issue for him, as he would it seems rather not get too involved if he has to move?)

I'm the one getting frustrated about things not moving forward in the relationship, although he might be too. He is a person who does not speak their minds much and it is hard to determine what they are thinking.

When you first met, you saw this person as a reward, perhaps, for all the hard work you’ve put into a healing process.  OR, maybe you thought this person was the essence of your creativity.  - Spot on again, I first met him at University, he was a few years older, studying the same degree. I remembered him (I had a small crush on him back then) whereas he didn't remember me.

You are afraid of how fast things may be moving.  - I'm afraid that we don't have much time left, and he is not committed to move either way - hence I feel like I'm dangling in a web.

This other person is afraid that things will turn out the “way they always have” and be a great disappointment.  (But they tend to make mountains out of molehills anyhow!)  - True!! His last break up was another "moving away" separation which may still be playing a major part in his life.

You are influenced in this relationship by the feeling of “rightness”. Everything in your life seems to be coming together for you and you are aware that any changes in your life right now are good ones. - Well...I'm not sure. Things felt right when we were together, as if everything was finally working itself out after a long and hard few years...but in the past few weeks things seem to have slipped again and we've come to a stalemate of sorts.

- Again, it did feel right, but now everything seems to be up in the air. When I saw the Lovers card, I was wary of my interpretation (could I have somehow influence my draw? etc...) so I drew another card to cross it, the 6 of Wands (victory, triumph, hope)...

Thanks for the reading Seamonster, I'm glad that mine was similiar! Your suggestion about looking at the cards and letting them tell a story was a good one!! Thanks for the comment Novia, I hope you are right and that this is a 'good deal'. I suppose I will have to exercise some of that 'patience' Seamonster said I was bringing into the relationship and wait him out. Boy it's hard.

Thank you for the blessings (it seems we need it!! - or I'm just being impatient)

Love and light to you both!!

Annwyn
