I wasn't quite sure of where to put these questions, but over the last couple of days, I've had this almost fever for new occultish books. So I've been reading a lot.. And when I read stuff, I tend to have questions that I just can't wrap my head around, and these are only a few that I thought up, reading a book this afternoon. Thanks in advance to anyone that can unblock me..

If someone can feel energy from objects, does it all feel the same? Does it feel the same for rocks and plants or humans and snakes or ice and metal? I'm not meaning these to be opposites either, it's just what came to my mind just then.

Why is it that negativity can't come into the cast circle, but whatever energy you're sending out can be projected through? What if that negativity or whatever energy that's outside of your circle is yours of the making? Is it just other peoples energy that can't come through, or am I on the wrong track with this question?

When you're closing a circle, and grounding the energy, can you take any leftover energy  and use it to give yourself some extra pep or is it really not even compatible with your personal power anymore?

Also something really strange happened to me at this one state trail two weekends ago.. There's this one old farm building that only has the stone walls up anymore. I sat on one of the walls, and just began to try to think of what the area surrounding it was used for. And I can't describe what the feeling started as, but I noticed it, and I was ok with it, and continued just imagining. Then I couldn't stop from thinking this one thought of where the chickens used to peck the ground, and then I felt this in-head dizziness and my stomach did this sort of belly flop and I thought I was gonna mildly vomit.. I've had thoughts like that before, when I couldn't derail the thought.. It's like someone else was thinking the thought, and I just had to ride it out, but never that kind of sick feeling.. Those kinds of thoughts usually turn out to be visions/deja vu.. Never important or odd, just normal things that happen through out the day, I just see it days or weeks before it happens.

Well I can't say what it is like for others but for me I can sometimes feel energy if I try.  it doesn't come naturally, I have to put some thought to it but I can some times feel a bit of a tingle when I hold stones.  Its very faint, and hard to explain.  I never really thought to compare my stones to anything else.  I have a feeling it is probably different for each person here.

What I suggest is try for yourself.  Take a few stones and sit yourself in a quiet place, away from distractions.  Clear your mind and get comfortable.  If you know how to meditate that will probably help.  Then once you are calm and your mind is clear take one stone in your hand and close your eyes.  Sit there with the stone in your hand and focus on what you feel from the stone.  Try it with other objects and compare if you wish.


One thing I think is kind of interesting is I found I can feel energy from a stone more readily with my mouth than my hands.  If I put then stone is my mouth I notice it more.  Not that I recommend that, I just have always had a habit of putting things in my mouth. (you should see some of my old pencils.)

As for why negative energy can't enter a circle while positive energy can be sent out I believe it is all about intent.  When you cast the circle your intention is to keep negativity out and so the negative energy can not enter.  What ever you intend to keep out can not enter and anything you want near you can be invited.  I use to do that when I went to sleep.  I would cast a circle to keep out negative spirits then invite only my guides and angels to be near me.

Hope that answers a couple of your questions.  I am sure there are wiser people here who can explain better, I am still learning myself.

Thanks a lot Indigo! That's very interesting about the whole mouth thing.. Maybe because the blood flow is nearest to the surface? In your opinion would gravel have the same sort of energy as, say, an emerald? Does the energy change with how rare that stone is?

I agree with the circle being set up for keeping the negativity out. If you are casting with a group and someone in the group isn't grounded or mad, it will throw off the energy in your circle. Keeping energy from your work, well, that's up to you. It's a personal decision.

Feeling energy from different things? I know that playing in the dirt at the beach is different from playing in the dirt in my flower beds...stones feel the same to me, but not all of them. If i pick up a stone and feel something, I usually buy it or take it home. If not, then I probably wouldn't get along with it anyway.

Dunno if that helps..but it's what I got.

For me, as far as stones go, they "feel" the same in my hand.  I mean that I can physically feel the power of the stone.  However, each stone gives me a different "impression".  I get a different "psychic" feeling for each one.
I don't go about "feeling" herbs (for instance) in the same way that I do stones.  Yes, I do touch the herb to empower it, but I choose an herb based on its traditional usage and my need whether magickal or medicinal.  Sometimes, I choose an herb based on which one seems to pop into my head most urgently.  To me this signals a need for it one way or the other.
Animals are completely different for me.  My "feeling" of an animal is its reaction to me and how often it appears to me in whatever form.  Since we work with animals a lot in dreams, the feeling of the animal is more on a spiritual level than physical.
If you mean that they feel us in the same way we feel them, I suppose they probably do to a certain degree.  I don't imagine it is quite the same way as our brains function differently than animals, and herbs and stones are made up of minerals and energy rather than flesh and brain.  But, I do believe they feel us simply because if they couldn't, how could we empower them?

Seamonster, what I meant by my Original Post was, does the energy feel the same, if you were touching a stone, or a repile, or a plant... That's what I meant, I wasn't thinking of if they could sense us.. Though you do bring up a very good point to think about..

Any one have any thoughts as to what that was at the state trail that I felt?
