If everything that IS was first a thought, then we must, first, think of what we want before it can manifest.
What do you dream of achieving?
Is your dream different today than it was yesterday? Have you noticed that your goals grow and change as they evolve?
We might start out with a certain goal in mind and then find that it has evolved into something different as it grows. Keeping a journal on the progress of our goals is an important tool for watching how they change as they develop.
I will often start out wanting something very specific, but adjust my desires as events unfold. I do this because my experiences will reveal various things about how I could better achieve what I want if I change my desire in some way. I call this being led by Spirit. Perhaps it is really my inner being, or perhaps it is my higher self, or maybe its my guardian angel it really makes no difference.
It is through the desire to achieve my goal that I attract experiences into my life which develop my original intention. Today I have a better idea of how to achieve my goals than I did yesterday, and I expect that tomorrow will show me things I need to make further improvements.
God does not call the equipped. He equips the called.

You can literally achieve anything you want if you, first, set your mind to thinking about it!

I've been observing my garden, recently, thinking about what it will look like while dreaming about the plants being tall, green and bearing their vegetables. This dream helps me know what needs to be done next. It helps me take the initiative.

Exactly what have you done TODAY towards your long-term dreams? Do you even have a dream? If you don't know precisely where you're going, I'll bet you end up somewhere else!
If you had a genie, and 3 wishes, what would they be? I'm asking you to put it in writing in the next 60 seconds.
If you're smart enough to do it now, you will, I promise, be one step closer to your dream than if you don't. This is basic logic.

TAKING THE INITIATIVE
I quit a high-potential position in the executive search industry to start my own e-recruitment venture. I had a plan. I had a vision. And I took a big risk to make it happen. Along the way, Monster.com offered to buy us out. Going to work for someone else was certainly not part of our business plan. In the end, however, I did join Monster because the opportunity was huge! A different outcome than I intended, and one that would never have occurred if I hadn't taken the initial step.
When you create your own opportunities, the path you take is more often than not, a winding one. If you can deal with that, then you have the opportunity to shape your own destiny.

Without initiative, nothing begins. Initiative is the ability to start, to begin - and then to push it through. In Magic, an initiation is necessary for success in achieving the goals we set. INITIATIVE demands ACTION. Let us say to ourselves, as Aries begins, "Let us start". We then need to keep the initiative going. See every action through to its conclusion on anything you begin.
