The Courage to Feel Good
Written by Misty-Eve

This is certainly the season for flooding. Though it's not happening here at the moment (knock on wood) it certainly has in the past and I can sympathize with those who are experiencing that disaster this year.  Spring is the time when the snow melts and the rains come.  Together they are sometimes more than the rivers can hold.  Ready or not, here it comes.  The Message of Aries rings in my ears:  Wake up!  Be aware!

It makes me wonder about my own situation, and whether or not I'm living on high enough ground.  So, I began studying the depth of the water behind the dam upstream and the overflow areas available before it reaches my location.  I spoke to an "engineer" about my  "what if something happens to the dam" fears.  I have even gotten the local newspaper involved in finding out about the dam's safety - since there's many leaks and several bushes growing on the side of the dam - which holds back a 200' wall of water.

During this research, I've discovered that I'm definitely high enough above the water level rise projected due to melting ice caps - which is wonderful to know.  But I also found out that I'm high enough to be safe EVEN IF the dam were to collapse!

Whew-w-w!  I've faced my fears, and gotten enough facts to let me know that we're OK where we are!  How wonderful!

What’s going on in your life that needs your courage?

Right now, we are ALL faced with needing to muster courage to confront or overcome some obstacle to our peace of mind.

When we can see the astrological influences at work in our life, then we have more of an idea about what the Creators are trying to tell/show/teach us.

We are actually here to experience joy and happiness.  When we are paying attention, in the here and now,  and we most easily do as children.  However, we grow up and society and parental training tell us we must be “responsible” and do things we don’t like to do.

Joseph Campbell said in “Man, Myth and Meaning” that we must follow our bliss if we are to know our true purpose.  He told a story of a family dining at a restaurant, and the father was pushing his son to eat his broccoli.  The mother said, “oh don’t make him eat them if he doesn’t want to.”  The father said, “There’s lots of things in this life he will have to do that he doesn’t want to.  Just look at me, I’ve never done a single thing I wanted to in my entire life!”

What a shocking thing to hear, though this is how some of us were taught to live.  It is an example of a life that is not lived on purpose to find meaningful experiences that bring about joy and happiness.  It is an example of the pressure to be responsible… be safe… don’t go outside the box or the well-defined path, or the well trodden rut of living life.

However, if everything a person does is from that perspective then he will never be able to guide himself with his feelings – his emotional guidance system – because feelings (in that world) have no meaning.

What are Feelings for?

There are really only two emotions: one feels good and the other feels bad.  These are there to tell you when you are in alignment with your inner being and when you are not.  When the thought or action being experienced IS in alignment with your inner being or higher intentions, then you feel good.  When you feel bad it is because the thought you are thinking it IS NOT in harmony with your higher self.

Those things that feel bad are actually sliding away or falling out of your experience, but your attention to them prolongs their departure.  Therefore, take your attention off of those things that worry, frustrate, irritate or anger you, if you really want them to disappear from your experience.

Those things that feel good are pointing in the direction we are being led to experience more of in this life.  Therefore, think about these good feeling thoughts often especially when you are feeling good and connected to the stream of life.

Hope or Despair, Laughter or Sadness, Joy or Frustration… the choice is ours to make.

Do you have the Courage to Feel Good?

"You are a creator;  you create with your every thought. You often create by default, for you are getting what you are giving your attention to wanted or unwanted.  Your FEELINGS will tell you if you are creating what you WANT or what you DON'T WANT.”
~ Abraham Hicks

It’s worth thinking about…

JUST DO IT

“When you are afraid to do something, say "what the heck" and do it anyway.  Let the success be in taking the risk rather than attachment to the outcome.  If you fall down, pick yourself back up and move on.  The more risks you take, the more courage you build, and the more confident you become.

Understand that your confidence will be stronger at different times and in different areas of your life than others.  Accept this as part of the journey.

When you are confident, you know you will handle whatever comes up in the best way you can and move on.  Regardless of what happens, you will still be whole and complete unto yourself.”

COURAGE: QUOTES OF THE DAY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage.“
~ Anais Nin
’Come to the edge,' she said.
They said, 'We are afraid.'
'Come to the edge,' she said.
They came.
She pushed them...
And they flew.
~ Peter McWilliams
“Hope focuses on the bigger picture as a future reality, giving purpose to our experiences, centered around the energies of will, courage and power. Without hope, we lack will – the mental connection.”
~ Excerpted from The Soul Journey “On Hope and Despair” by Andrew Schneider
“Follow your bliss and doors will open where there were no doors before.”
~ Joseph Campbell
COURAGE
We have to believe that it is possible to have the courage needed to do the impossible.  It is easy to be overwhelmed by all there is to do in our lives, and even more overwhelmed by what needs to be done in the world.
Courage will help us do what Spirit calls us to do.  Courage doesn't mean not to have fear or not to feel overwhelmed; courage means to act from the heart.  If the Spirit lives in our heart, we can move ahead with confidence.  There may be no signs that promise better times, but remember they are possible. Depend on that glimmer of inner light and know that those who do the impossible are those who kept going when everyone said it couldn't be done.
THE FIERY MESSAGE OF ARIES:  Wake Up And Live!  Enjoy Life!  Be Happy!
People are that they might have Joy. The real meaning of Aries is the message of reincarnation - Wake up and live!
Most folks are not aware. They are not aware that they dwell in a waking dream state, passing in a stupor past the multitude of images and shadows that they perceive as life. "BE AWARE" - says Aries - be an active force in the creative processes that recreate the world each moment of each day. Emerson says that if you would have the power, DO THE THING. Aries says to us that if we want to do something - just do it!
ARIES: ”I AM”
2nd Decan Influence: COURAGE
March 30 – April 9
Courage follows initiative like a ram follows an ewe. Courage comes directly from the power of the will, stemming directly from initiative. That is to say that desire powers the will and initiative gives one courage. Courage is the capacity to carry what you have started through to final completion. DOING gives courage, and sees it through.
