Gemini Perceives What It Can Conceive
by Misty-Eve*
May 26, 2009
In the barrage of light and shadow that comes to us through our eyes, psychologists tell us that we are only capable of seeing that which we have personal experience with. In a recent experiment children were given a picture of a shaded couple in a intimate pose surrounded with dolphins in the shaded areas. The children, having no experience with this pose, could only see the dolphins; the adults, on the other hand, could only saw the intimate pose until the concept of the dolphins being in the picture was explained to them.
We are only aware of what we can conceive. Therefore the more experience we have the more we can perceive and thus do we develop our awareness of the mysteries of life.

Question of the Day
Are you aware of the voice inside your head that talks to you all day long? For most of us, that voice is a critic that ruthlessly judges and condemns our every move. It talks to us in ways we wouldn't dream of speaking to anyone else.
If we pay attention to that inner critic, we'll probably realize that we've heard those same words in other voices - the voices of our parents, teachers, classmates, siblings, colleagues, even strangers. These words keep us stuck - in the past, and in our fears and insecurities.
These words color our experience of ourselves and of life, moment by moment, and can prevent us from experiencing all that life has to offer.
Take time to do the following exercise:
· How do you typically talk to yourself? Watch yourself closely for a day and write down the half-conscious mumblings and judgments you routinely make to yourself.
· Is your self-talk destructive or supportive?
· Do you see yourself trapped by unavoidable circumstances, and ask "Why me?"
· Do you see yourself as a spirit on an earthly journey learning through experiences and growing into our inevitable status of becoming like our celestial parents, gods in our own right?
· What does your self-talk say about the ideas you believe about yourself?
It's worth thinking about...
