where you're just pissed for no damn reason whatsoever.  It's not any one thing or person, but I'm just in a pissed mood tonight. The kind where I'd love to just start punching on something or screaming.  I think I'm having what I call "Mom Syndrome" which means 1. I've, probably, woken up on the wrong side of the bed  and 2. If I'm not having a good day then no one else is going to.  I've been snapping at Zero since he got in from work. I just feel like punching him upside the head to make myself feel better (even though I'd never lay a hand on him or vice versa)  I hate feeling angry like I am right now. Writing it out is helping greatly but it's still grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  if I could break something I'd do it. Probably sounds like I'm just rambling on, which is more than likely true. *sigh* I need to get my "happy pills" tomarrow aka birth control.  Probably why I'm so irritated right now.

Thanks for at least glancing at the post

ah hormones! you gotta love em .... well maybe not so much sometimes....chammomile tea or some sleepytime tea...both work well....and a good movie or a book to take your mind off of the everyday. A good nights sleep wont hurt either.

I find throwing rocks at the fence is very therapuetic. ALong with taking walks, and playing with the dogs....nothing is better than wrestling a wound-up, fun-loving four legged.

Yep. Just had 2 days sort of like that (back to back)! But I was at work and that was why I was in such a great mood  . Just had a lot of dumb stuff happen close to the end of shift which meant staying even longer to write reports (and I was already on overtime).  I kind of equate it to being pecked to death by chickens- eventually you want to just reach down, grab one and choke the life out of the little bastard Twisted Evil But now I feel bad because I got a little irratable with some coworkers that I shouldn't have, and I haven't seen them yet to apologize for being snippy with them Embarassed . Sometimes when I get in moods like that I'll just go for a power walk or go to the gym to take my frustrations out on the equipment. Just don't make the same mistake I did and take it out on someone who has nothing to do with why you are feeling cranky- you'll feel worse afterward if you do.

I know exactly how you feel-I had a hysterectomy to put me in menopause-boy oh boy the feeling are intense. never mind the hot flashes but there are days when if i don't like how you look or the way you answered me i want to put you thru the wall. You should read christiane northrup-she's a gyno and explains that our emotions during our "time" are our true feelings that we have been surpressing - so vent and get it out-i usually do things like this, write in my journal, or watch a movie that i know i will cry-it releases a lot of tension-this happens to us the stronger sex because men would not be able to handle this Smile

lol. I'm feeling a bit better. I tend to just bounce around whenever I don't have my happy pills. Sometimes I'm happy, others, like now, irritated and still others blue. I don't think I'm holding any feelings in on purpose, but it is possible. I know once I start the pills I tend to even out as far as mood swings. Now....if I could just get to sleep.

Cat, do we really want to make it a men vs women  thing? Yes, hormones play a HUGE role in how ALL humans feel and ultimately express themselves. (by the way, I'm sorry you had to undergo that surgery- I'm sure it isn't pleasant going through what you must be feeling emotionaly or physically). My point is that we all have crappy days every now and then, and we all have different ways of dealing with it. Furthermore, every individual person walking this earth has a different level of stress that is tolerable to them. The key is finding a way to effectively deal with our emotions in a way that doesn't hurt anyone else. For instance, crying is an effective emotional release for you, personally. For me, I tend to use physical activity as one of my releases, or if I'm tired, I try to separate myself from those I care about the most so I don't hurt anyone's feelings by blowing up at them over something dumb. I think its safe to say that both sexes have their respective strengths, AND weaknesses. However, as individuals though, the strengths and weaknesses we possess (as well as the levels of each) are what makes us all unique.

Laughing  I ain't touchin the man vs woman end of this thread!!!

I konw those days Bramble, and most folks have learned to leave me the hell alone when I tell them 'leave me alone, I ain't feelin' it today!'

I also find that I fluff pillows wonderfully when I have them 'kill 'em, kill 'em ALL!' streaks Laughing

I wasn't gonna go there either Novia- but one thing that will light my fuse is the "its a guy thing or a girl thing" Laughing . Not trying to offend anyone. Just pointing out that women don't have a monopoly on the wide spectrum of human emotion that we're ALL capable of  Wink Only point I was trying to make is that we all get emotional at times (some good & some not so good). And sometimes we can't explain it. One time it might be a hormonal thing, other times there might have been some other catalyst that sets you off, sometimeimes it might be physical (personally I have heard from others that they can tell when I'm really tired because I allegedly get cranky Shocked ). Sometimes you just can't put your finger on what's bothering you or why. But both men and women have times like this. Hope all is well.

I am going to agree with you Draco, lots of times men try to hide it or rationalize it away but I do think there are just as many moods going on with male hormones as female ones.....and isn't it good that we can come here and vent ...not having to worry about being judged by one rough day ...or week, that we can all chuckle to ourselves and think "been there, done that" ....and we will probably be there again too! Embarassed

Shocked I have just had one of those days myself.  My poor hubby hadnt done anything wrong, but the sight of him was enough to send me into barking mad, feral, I want to kill something mode.  He knows my cycle, so he knows when to creep away...backwards with his eyes not breaking contact  Laughing   Ahhh hormones.  Normally, a good long walk with my ipod and some great angry music works wonders for me.  Hope you feel better!!

thinking about this again.....have a friend that we can always tell when he hasn't been eating/ skipping meals etc at work cause he is normally really a nice guy....unless he is hungry .....there are grizzly's that are nicer than that. Now when he starts up someone will just say "I am going to get something to eat, what can I get you?"
Not do you want something? We don't care if he WANTS to eat or thinks he is too busy etc. we feed the bear... Laughing
