Found this neat little website on the uses of white vinegar and thought I would share is here.  I noticed the tip on window cleaner said to use vinegar, dish detergent, and water.  I thought vinegar and water were suppose to work without soap but I may be wrong.  I haven't tried to use vinegar for cleaning yet.  Really the only surfaces I clean often are the counter tops and they are marble. Ben did it himself years ago.  When he first bought this place he lined the counter tops with marble bathroom tiles so he could have marble counter tops and not have to worry about using a cutting board.  Well, needless to say I can't use vinegar on them, marble doesn't get along to well with acids.  But anyway here is the link.

I use a 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water solution for basic cleaning. Vinegar is a natural antiseptic, so you can clean a lot of stuff with it (except marble lol!).

For the windows/glass you can use the vinegar/water solution and the wipe it clean with newspaper.... no seriously.... it doesn't leave behind streaks when it dries. You can always add a touch of lemon to the solution if the vinegar smell is too nasty, but the smell dissapates quickly.

i spray down the house daily with white vinegar, use it with newspaper to clean the windows, and drink 2 tbsp/8oz. water as a tonic for general ailments (cold, sinus, fatigue come to mind)

earthclinic.com also lists many uses for vinegar.

My mom had the hiccups once so bad they hurt her.  I was still living with her at the time and she knows I am into herbs and natural remedies.  Sugar didn't work, neither did drinking water.  And with her back and neck there was no way for her to try drinking upside down.  So I looked in a book of Chinese food cures and there was one for hiccups.  It suggested mixing 1 part rice vinegar with 1 part water and having the vict... err... patient drink that very slowly.

All we had was apple cider vinegar but I decided to try it.  I told her to drink it very slowly but she took a big ol' swig.  She cussed me for an hour but it worked.  Now I live in a house that always has rice vinegar, and a few times when I have gotten hiccups i have remembered and took a sip of straight vinegar.  Never failed me once

Once upon a time, I was a night manager of a small grocery store.  We would mop the floor with a solution of vinegar and water.  It worked beautifully--no streaks at all.  The trick was to not overdo it.  One night, a new employee put wayyyyyy too much vinegar into the mop water.  I thought nothing of it; the smell permeated the store and would probably linger long enough to annoy the morning people, but I didn't particularly care for them anyway.  When it was tme for the bar to close, one of the town drunks wandered in.  Large quantities of alcohol, fried food, and the smell of vinegar apparently don't go well together at 3:00 a.m.  The result was spectacular.  He took a couple of steps inside, and it was obvious whenthe smell hit him.  He got that look that foretold Something Bad happening.  He covered his mouth and turned toward the door.  He almost made it out.  The new employee had a real mess to clean up.  Sometimes there's no substitute for chlorine bleach.
