Leo - Generous Appreciation‏
by Misty-Eve*
August 11, 2009

To keep my spirits up when I find it difficult to do so, I have a few tapes from speakers I enjoy which I find uplifting to listen to.

Dr. Wayne Dyer is one of these who I've been listening to most recently. His 5-CD set on the "Power of Intention" always gives me something positive to think about, and I'd like to share the following with you from one of those CDs.

Truth is Beauty and Beauty is Truth.

Dr. Dyer told a story of how he'd been asked to speak at a conference in Vienna. While there, he was privileged to meet and share the stage with Victor Frankl, a survivor of the Holocaust. He was very impressed with Mr. Frankl who told the story of how he survived this ordeal…

He said that the German soldiers spent a lot of energy trying to humiliate the prisoners so that the people would loose the ability to find meaning in their lives, and loose hope. One of these humiliations was the food they were given once a day, which consisted of dirty looking and smelling water, which they called "soup". He said the lucky ones got a fish head floating in this dirty water. While this at first was horribly disgusting, the only way he was able to survive was to find beauty in that floating fish head. He said if he could find beauty in the situation, then he found meaning for himself, and this is what kept him going… even in the worst of experiences. For where there is beauty, he found Truth, and Truth brought him back to his connection with Source.

I listened to this story and thought, if he could find beauty in such an awful situation, then surely I can find beauty in my own situation.

The appreciation of beauty adds value to my experience. The word appreciation means to add value. For example, when a house appreciates, we say it has increased in value. Therefore, the act of appreciation itself adds value to whatever it is that I am appreciating. Similarly when I am depreciating something I am taking away value. For example, when a new car is driven off the lot we say it has depreciated, meaning it has lost value.

Therefore when I am appreciating someone or something I am adding meaning and value to it and discovering a way to reconnect with Source. Likewise, when I am depreciating I am taking value away, and disconnecting from my Source.

It's all good!

When I can find something to appreciate in every situation, then I let go of value judgments brought out because my ego didn't get what it wanted. I accept that everything happens for a good reason, and I begin to only look for what is good in every experience, because where I can find goodness I can find God. Where I can find beauty, I can find Truth and meaning.

So that's what I have to do with my situation. I have to look for what there is to appreciate within my experience, for when I look for the beautiful, and when I can find beauty to appreciate, there I will find Truth.

When I put on my `rose colored glasses' and look with an eye to finding what there is to appreciate in my life, I discover a plethora of blessings that I have been overlooking because I was focused on my problems. When I begin to focus on the goodness of the Creator and how everything happens for a reason, then I can see that I am being directed into new avenues of thought which will continue to become better and better as the Way opens up in this new direction.

Where ever God closes a door, he always opens a window.

The trick is in being able to accept that what's happened is for the good, and move on so I can find the expanding window of opportunity that has become available to me. It's easiest to do this if I accept that I live in a friendly Universe, where I am taken care of, provided for and blessed with new and expanding opportunities.

It all begins with finding beauty and appreciating the perfection within the experiences we are given. When I look for the good in my life, I find God. When I appreciate the goodness and beauty that I find, I am appreciating the Creator… I am adding value to what the Creator has given me.

When I can appreciate my life, then I can appreciate myself, because my experiences are nothing but my own inner thinking reflected upon the outer circumstances of my life.

Therefore, I realize that I am the creator of my experience. I am responsible for the conditions of my life. Part of my responsibility lies in appreciating my way back into connection with the Source of All-That-Is, by appreciating what IS working, and what I find that delights me. When I do this I find that I have so much to be thankful for!

Do you find time for appreciation? Do you look for the good in every situation?

How often do you express your gratitudes? How many blessings can you find to appreciate today?

Are you generous enough to appreciate All-That-Is?

It's worth thinking about...

GIVE IT MEANING

A life of meaning is built out of days that have meaning. Before each day arrives, give it meaning.

Give each day meaning by deciding in advance what you will do with it. Then, when each day arrives you'll be anxious to get going and enthusiastic as you move through it, for it will have a positive purpose.

Don't waste your time looking back with regret at what you have failed to accomplish. Instead, look forward and fill each upcoming day with the challenge, the effort, the commitment, the growth and achievement that will give it real meaning.

Life is as full as you wish to make it. Each day is your opportunity to fill your life with precisely the things that mean the most to you.

By doing so, you will not only be creating fulfillment in your own life. You'll also be giving your own special gifts to the world around you.

Choose to fill each upcoming day with beauty, with love, with effort, effectiveness, discipline, commitment, focus, passion, and meaning. And truly enjoy the fact that life is what you make it.

HOW TO ATTRACT WHAT YOU DESIRE
~ by Carrie Hart

Today, I wish for you to practice the law of attraction. It is very simple. Think of what you desire as a moth that is attracted to light. Then see yourself as that light, first with a small spark in the center. Fan that spark with love. Love yourself and your life so deeply that you begin to glow ever brighter. Glow and glow, just from who you are inside, just from the love you hold for yourself and for your life, exactly as it is.

There is no struggle here. There is only quiet and peace and love. For even if your light is bright, if you struggle, if you are flailing your arms around, working with frenzy to achieve something, you will keep away what you wish to attract. The moths draw closer because of the light, but they are held back by your frenzied activity, your trying and striving, and they hang back in the dark, just out of sight, wishing they could approach you, but unable to because of your grasping and needy activity.

Grow calm and still. Stop trying and striving. Stop trying to control. Relax and breathe deeply and come into peace. Find within you the deep love which you hold for yourself. Become one with it, so that you love yourself completely, no matter what. And now, let this glow spread to your entire life. Love everyone and everything within it. Embrace your life fully, just as it is. Even though you have desires, you can still love your life exactly as it is right now. You must achieve this peace in order to open to the little moths of opportunity and abundance which are waiting to fly to you.

Your frustration, anger and irritation are all like a turbulence which keeps them away. They will come only when you are completely calm and your light is glowing brightly from internal love. Come into peace. Go to your center and fill it with love and light. Love yourself exactly as you are and let that make your glow brighter. Love your life and all that is in it, exactly as it is, exactly as the other people are. Embrace your life. Embrace yourself with love. Glow, glow.

Ah, and now they come. You are calm enough now. You are in a state of peace and joyfully glowing brightly and they cannot help but come. Abundance, love, light, flickering opportunities, all this is dancing around you. You are a bright column of light, and silver and golden wings surround you, reflecting off your own glow, making them into little lights themselves as they circle and circle, offering you all that you desire.

I release all that is not love and light. I come into a deep peace within myself and fill myself with love.

I love myself completely and absolutely. I love everything about myself, exactly as I am. I love my life exactly as it is. I am love and light.

I am peace and connection, feeling oneness with all that is. I connect deeply in love and glow brightly with all that I am.

I am light. I am a bright shining light, a lamp which glows out with love, love of myself, love of my life.

I am peace. I am light and love. I am.

* * *
To achieve that level of peace and connection which is the prerequisite for the fulfillment of your desires, I urge you to meditate every day.

You do not need to know anything about meditation to gain the benefits of this wonderful meditation. Just spend a few moments each day thinking uplifting thoughts, and watch your life transform.

LEO: "I LOVE" and "I WILL"
2nd Decan Influence: "GENEROSITY"

August 2nd – August 12th

"Generosity" is the next great Leo influence. Dictionary.com defines Generosity as "Nobility of thought or behavior; magnanimity." Generosity, then, is a matter of being noble, and this generous nobility is a lovely tempering attribute of true rulers and the key to their greatness.

Nobility is often misunderstood and has come to have two distorted meanings. It does not mean high and lordly nor does it mean just giving out the goodies. Nobility and generosity, in its true sense, is acting as though one were of noble birth, that is, possessing naturally a certain nobility of mind. This should not be confused with an air of hauteur or superiority but the noble or generous person (often a Leo) acts as a gentle man or gentle woman, which is the real meaning of the word Lady.

Generosity comes to us from the Latin "Gens" meaning beginning and reflects the nature of monarchs who, historically being of nobility born, are generous. Rulership without nobility is despotism, but with generosity it becomes noble and gentle. The Wise are gentle, noble and generous.
