I know this is a stupid question, but can you paint a candle? My job hunt isn't going to well so I went to the dollar general to get a green candle but they didn't have what I need. all they had was those stupid candles in a jar. Even if those would work for others they wouldn't work for me because I hate them. They didn't have any green taper candles or votive candles, the closest thing they had was an 8 pack of green tea lights. So I was wondering if I could use one of the burgundy votives in the cabinet and just paint it green?

I don't think you will need to paint the candle. I wouldn't anyway, since there are chemicals in paint that you might not want to burn! Remember that magic and spellwork all depend on your intention. What do you want to accomplish? What is the visualization going on inside your head? The green tea lights will work just as well as the green taper. I use tea lights all the time when I am out of the "witchy" tapers. When I do, I scratch my intention into the side or top of the candle, anoint it with the appropriate oil and put it back into its little metal or plastic holder. Then, since it won't fit into its holder if I load it with herbs, I place the herbs that go with my spell in a circle around the candle. There is actually a lot you can do with tea lights. Nice thing is that they burn about 4-6 hours and then burn out, so they are a one use spell and you won't have to worry about adapting your spell to the size of the candle, or wasting it altogether.
