Hi everybody,

Last night I did a celtic cross spread reading for myself. My question was: what is going on with my energy and should I be concerned (see other post in forum for detailed issue)? So here's how my reading went last night:

1. The World -- Reversed
2. 9 of Swords
3. Ace of Cups
4. Queen of Swords
5. King of Pentacles-- Reversed
6. The Hermit-- Reversed
7. 10 of Swords
8. Queen of Pentacles
9. 2 of Cups
10. The Devil-- Reversed

Can someone help me figure out the overall meaning of my reading? I'm still fairly new to tarot and I haven't had much practice doing a full spread (it's actually the first time I've tried a full spread). I do know that the 1st and 2nd cards are right on (Reverse World to me means unbalanced and out of alignment with my body and soul; the 9 of Swords represents nightmares and desolateness which are never ending-- the main reason I feel like me energy is fading is because of nightmares/dreams I've been having, again refer to previous post titled "Energy Issues")

Thanks in advance for your help!

Blessed Be,
*~Lina~*

Where are you placing your #3-#6 cards? (#3 foundation?, #4 past?, #5 higher self?, #6 future?)  How are you interpreting the #7-#10? (i.e. #7 your environment/attitudes or how you react to what is around you...etc.)

Alrighty, then...here goes (one interpretation, anyhow...)

Well...look at all the majors and courts!  I'll get to that...

You are new to this and are at the beginning of your seeking (Thus the reversed world card covering you).  You have much to learn about the "world" around you and the "world" of the occult.  As a result, you are worrying a bit about those things that you are still inexperienced about (crossed by the 9 of swords) and too much thought is creating nightmares.  (Perhaps you are giving this young man too much credit and worrying too much about it?)
What has started all of this is that you are emotionally open/healthy.  You are a clean new cup ready to be filled with whatever comes along.  You are ready and willing to take on new experiences.  This is a good thing from your standpoint, but you also have to discern what goes into your cup.  What kind of energy do you want to fill your heart with?
Recently you may have been a mediator in some sort of intellectual "battle" of wits or you may have known someone who does that sort of thing.  (Q of Swords).   Since this has to do with the issue at hand, perhaps you had some kind of "discussion" or maybe he is impressed by how you handled some intellectual issue in class?
The reversed K of Pentacles tells me that somewhere along the line you or someone else will be impractical about this issue.  You may see this person as untrustworthy and lacking in self-control.  Perhaps you will be the one to be "out of control".  Be careful not to take your suspicion of this young man too far until you know his real intentions.
Currently, you feel that you need to "hide" from this situation, and it makes you uncomfortable.  Imposed solitude is never fun.  Perhaps, also, you may need to stand back and observe the situation from an objective point of view, neither acting on it or announcing it--simply watching and thinking about it.
Are others around you helping to fuel your discomfort?  The ten of swords speaks of hostility.  Are others' prejudices against this young man adding to the worry that you feel?  This card also talks about the END of hostility and letting go.  (Thereby giving you both the problem and solution to the "outside influence").
In yourself, you feel grounded and practical,  which is why you are asking for an objective opinion.  Because you are a secure and loving person, you wish to resolve this issue rather than letting it "go away on its own".
You are hoping that this can be resolved in a peaceful manner and that just maybe this young man can be a friend rather than a foe.  This doesn't mean you are hoping for a relationship, (although that's possible) simply
that you would rather not have to fight him for your own headspace.  This card speaks of mutual respect, agreement, pacts and such, and this is what you are hoping for.
In the end, the temptation to lash out at this young man or do some sort of "return" on him will pass.  The dark feelings will also pass as you realize that much of what you are feeling is inside yourself.

The swords are the element of the intellect.  There is a battle of wits/wills here that may be external but are more likely internal because of the way the cards are laid out.  The 9 and 10 of swords are both within yourself and coming from seeds planted within you by others.
Pentacles are the cards of the earth--practicality, groundedness, material issues.  Seek the practical and make sure you are grounded before you take any action in any direction on this issue.
A third (ish) of your reading are major arcana which speaks of spiritual issues.  The positions they lie in are #1-you, #6-current issue and #10-the outcome, all of which are reversed.  It reads like a three-card reading.  You are still in the beginning stages of your knowledge and because of this, you feel that you must hide yourself from "the world" to figure out what's going on with others that appear "freaky" (pointing at the devil card).  As a result, you fear the dark side of this young man's nature, which, in the end isn't as dark as it appears.
Your court cards show me that perhaps these are all aspects of you and how you deal with this situation.  Recently you've had this Battle of wits (perhaps even with yourself), which has caused you to become impractical on this issue, but at the same time, you know that you are grounded enough to handle it.  This simply means that you are in a strange, new area of learning and that you are unsure of yourself but know enough to "get help".

Adding all those numbers up, I get 13 (which is represented by the Death card).  This shows that change is happening, both inside yourself and outside.  Go with the changes and learn from them.  Get out of your comfort zone and into a new way of thinking.  Numerologically, 13 reduces to 4 which speaks of the balance of your essence (as represented by the four elements/parts: air--mental, fire--spiritual, water--emotional, and earth--physical.)  What do you need to do right now to balance out all of these things?

Okay, this is only my interpretation.  There are a thousand million ways to interpret this so don't take my word for it.  Get a second (3rd, 4th, 5th...) opinion and come to your own conclusion.   Very Happy

Thank you for your interpretation! I think part of my situation now is that I feel so imbalanced and I'm trying to place the blame on external forces as opposed to internal. I think it's time for some serious meditation Smile. Could this also be interpreted under learning new things in school/choosing a career after I graduate (May 2010)?

Also, could my #7 card (10 of Swords, external influences) have anything to do with my recent break up with my (now ex) fiance?

Thanks for all of your help!

Possible (10 of swords), if you are feeling hostility and mistrust because of it? Just remember, sweetie, that the end of one thing is always the beginning of another.  In our line of belief, everything runs in a circle.

Smile  Thanks. I'm actually looking forward to completing school and moving forward with my own life... I find it's not good to dwell on the past too much; just learn what you need to and use it in your next situation.
