I usually don't remember my dreams.  When I wake up it's *poof* and they're gone, but this one has really stuck with me for over a week now and I just can't figure it out.  So here goes.

In my dream, I go outside into my back yard and there are these fish tanks.  They are set-up like they are in a pet store ~ 3 in a column on on top of each other on shelves.  So I see them and am surprised that they are there, and I notice that they are all low on water, clean, just low on water.  The top tank has small fish, the middle tank has a little bit bigger fish, and the bottom has even a little bigger fish.  So I fill all of those tanks and feed them all.

Then I come to the second column of tanks except there is no top tank.  When I get closer to it I see that there are fish kinda floppping around on the shelf but they have a clear glass cover (kinda like the top on a cake pedistal) so I scoop them up and drop them in the top tank on the other side.  I then fill the middle tank and feed them too.

Then I get to the bottom tank.  It isn't any bigger than the other tank but it has these 2 really big fish in it that takes up all the room.  They can't swim, they can just stay in one place.  So I fill it up too and feed them.  Then the fish flop themselves out of the tank and start flopping over to my swimming pool.  So I start yellling at the fish (like they can really understand) that they can't do that because the chlorine will kill them.  I scoop them up and drop them back into the tank.  They do it again and then I take a rock and put it on the lid of the tank so they can't get out again.

Then I see a dog kennel and there are 2 (maybe 3) dogs in it.  I am really surprsed by this!  They are skinny like they haven't been feed and their fur is matted but they seem to be in pretty good shape.  I open the door to give them food and water and of course they come bounding out.  So I am all freaked out because I am worried that my dog Babs (in real life) is going to attack them, however, she isn't outside.  And, of course, all of a sudden there she (Babs my dog) is, but she didn't attack, they almost started playing.

Then I woke up.

I don't get it.  Right now I am in school and working part time.  My husband just got laid-off of work, but he completely disliked the people he worked with and my hubby gets along and like everyone, so for him to to dispise them is just unheard of.  So getting laid-off was a blessing (not even is diguise).  And he is also in school.  We should both be done by the end of the year.  Our son is doing well in school ~ 7th grade.  Yes, financally things are a little tight however we do have some funds in reserve that should keep us up and going for 6-8 months.  Even with the economy as rough as it is I have complete faith that once we are both done with school we will be able to find better employment.  Just now, as I type this, I realize that for one of the few times in my life I am not worried about income.

I looked up the meaning of fish in dreams, but none seem to apply.  Some connect fish to christianitity and that whole christian religion thing just has never worked for me, even as a kid.  Others connected it to pregnancy and children.  I don't want any more kids.  The one I have now is perfect, another one probably would not be as easy going.  Besides, I didn't want any kids to begin with so one is more than enough, not to mention I am 40 and my hubby is 51 and had a vasectomy 12 years ago cuz I told him we would never have sex again if he didn't.  I know, a little drastic, but it worked.  Ahhhh worry free sex is great!

In China, fish symbols prosperity.

So, what do you think?  I'd love your thoughts and insite.....

Hi,

To me, it sounds like the dream is telling you that you are overwhelmed with responsibilities of all priorities. I fish cannot survive without water, and you are desparately trying to make certain there is enough for all of the fish to survive in their regular environment as well as protect them from outside threats. The fish are dependent on you, as they are unable to provide themselves with more of what they need for life, nor can they deal with problems outside the scope of their environment. The dogs are uncared for as well, and you  must free and nuture them. The conflict between the dogs and fish is suggestive that two compartmentalized parts of your life may come into conflict, but it is not a true threat.

Does this fit a bit more with your life?

Well thats a different perspective that I never would have thought of ...... anything is possible.  If I'm not dreaming about fish, I'm dreaming about moving.  Its just odd, I don't ever recall having such vivid dreams that I can actually remember.

Thank you!
