what advice can you share about reading tarot for money?
i'm considering this for myself in 2010.
i'm connected to a rather active spiritualist community here where readers (along with psychics and mediums) are often part of the craft shows i participate in. i could take their classes and receive the certifications they feel are necessary to become part of this group of area readers, which would probably be the most welcoming way to break into tarot as a trade locally. the shows and expos i travel to outside of the area rarely have any tarot readers, which could be a good place to put myself. i've worked on-site events (doing marketing, sales, promotions, etc) for about 4 years and am very comfortable speaking one-on-one with the public, which I think could transfer well into reading tarot. I've been reading for friends about 4 years.
i've read the "22 tips for reading at fairs and expos" article posted here in the castle. now i want to know what advice the experienced have about beginning tarot as a business, and especially the transition from reading for friends to reading professionally. what else would i need to begin besides a deck and a table? i would read at on-site events, possibly parties, and the internet if anyone knows of legit online employment for this sort of thing. thanks for your help!
