Hubby and I took off for a ride this last weekend, and we just headed south. One point in mind to travel to. a lake we might go to this summer. Took some time and walked around thru the woods. Then we got back in the car and just drove.
Now when we go on these drives, especially once we get into areas where we haven't traveled before, I love to open up, and really encounter All there is to encounter, not just the physical scenery, I'm not driving so it's all good.
Now this part of Kansas has a 'history', but everywhere we travel has has soemthing happen in it, even if it's only 'life' so don't think you can only do this in the open wilds of country that as had things go on there that are known.
As we drove we happened upon one of the 'tourist visitor site' signs, and hubby asked if I wanted to go, it was for a 'massacre site', like that even sounds inviting to someone traveling open, right! lol. Nope not this time I told him, just got the horrible feeling from the area, it was only a mile up the road. Fear, sadness, anger. So we kept going and came upon a smallish town, Ft. Scott, and I said let's check this town out. We trun in and go a block or so and see a sign for 'historic Ft. Scott' so we head over to park.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The feeling was unbelievable. Alot of different things began running thru my head ninety to nothing, so I had to put the brakes on a tad, don a slight filter to quell some of it, and let the All know I wanted to know, but please, go easy, I don't need fried circuits, nor do I want them.
the first building we entered, it was ............heavy. We got our 'maps, and I soon realized why I could almost hear moaning, painful sounds. It had been the hospital. It was restored. Now once you know what a place has seen, you can open a bit wider to experience the place in it's entirety. They had some of the old beds lined up against the walls. the fireplace that once filled with fire, to sterilize the tools used to sever damaged limbs from bodies, stood soot covered. I could feel the energies of so many men and the women who cared for them. I paid my reverances, and we headed out. I knew full well what kind of a day it was gonna be.
We exited out the back and we looking into an open courtyard. Sure it looked like nothing more than a yard, but Many ages ago, men walked proudly back and forth. Marching, drilling, in full military regalia. Standing proudly in the center flew Old Glory, for which all these men served, and gave their lives for in some cases.
WE encountered many places, some were places where nothing 'major' in life happened but had the most awesom energy to them. The bake shop being one of them. now granted there was alot of discontented type energies because not all in miltary life was all good. Seemed to be quite a bit of near hatred in places. Forced labour gets that reaction I guess.
There was one other building we came upon. We came to it from arund the backside, and as soon as I runded the corner, i got hit with this wave that took my breathe away, literally. blamed asthma, lol. I the days of the civil war this town was split between people for and against slavery. On those very grounds, it was no longer military, stood two hotels on opposite sides of the yard, each housing seperate factions in the war. Not a good thing I would think. Well on the very steps of the restored building (some were reconstructed, and others were restored.) a man had been drug out by the opposing peoples and shot dead.
Well gonna have to cut this short since I gotta get ready for work, lol. Come to find out, that site we had passed up, had been a place were these same opposing forces had an encounter. some men were caught in a ravene and slaughtered by men who stood high above them.
here's a link to check out the national parks site on it.

So, as you walk thru life, are you experiencing all there is to experience in it, or are you only getting a part of it?
