    I've  suspected this for years; only now has the scientific community decided to agree with me.  Over the decades Ive had lucky shoes, lucky key fobs, lucky shirts, lucky boxer shorts, and all manner of little curios that I've counted on to get me by when all else fails.  Right now I have a pen that I have empowered to keep  me from committing too much stupidity at work.  I have a hat that protects me from lightning and poisonous snakes.   I don't know how such things work.  Faith and confidence are obviously part of the answer, but I've become absolutely convinced that there are other factors involved.  It would be interesting to hear others' stories and thoughts on this.
