JULY 12 July 18
Building Cosmic Bridges
Astrologically speaking this week may be the quiet after the storm. Although for many, last weekend's New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer may have seemed a rather mild and quiet event, things are shaking loose; issues are coming to the surface; lives are being healed. Passions are being revealed through the process of transformation and release.
Often when a person appears on the public scene, especially in a big way, like musicians, actors, writers and other personalities, the media describes them as an overnight sensation' or as achieving instant success. Most the time if you look beyond the glitzy words you'll find someone who has been working very hard and long to be an overnight success'.
In a techno age it's easy to get hooked on instant gratification and begin to believe things in our lives just magically manifest. Although, I believe that is entirely possible, our own limited thinking and life scripts usually pace the time of the journey from idea to manifestation. So until we come to that place -which we all will sooner or later--where we understand and experience that we are much, much, more than a human body, we are left accepting where we are, but peering onto the shore of a brighter and happier place. The question usually is, how do we get from here to there?'
The process may look different from person to person, but it always involves some version of building a bridge. In my experience, people want most or all the answers before they will take the first step. But taking the first step is what creates future possibilities. It's wise to want to plan your path. Mars in careful Virgo right now would applaud that strategy. But the master bridge builder, Jupiter alongside inventive Uranus, is in Aries fire igniting courage and passion. Both will be moving retrograde through the summer and autumn which may be why it's even more important now to absorb their zealous energy like a solar panel. Write down those flashes of insight and brilliant ideas. Now may or may not be the time to act on them, but now is the time to gather them up and start looking for resources. When these two planets are retrograde we can still make progress, but in more practical and calculated ways.
Every day we are building the bridge to our future and our destiny. Competing demands have us tied up in knots until we decide to unwind. We can unhook from the stress cycle we tend to perpetuate by thinking its real. Unwind into a more relaxed space, one of observation and neutrality. From this space, vitality springs.
