She's so beautiful tonight.  I hope you all can view her as well as I can.

She was indeed beautiful last night.  I had the night off.  I went out with a camera and tripod to try to get some pictures, but I'm not sure how they'll turn out.  The clouds racing across the sky, while beautiful and dramatic, did little for my exposure calculations.  Still, it was a great night to be out.

Blessings.

I happened to be on Maui for my 20th wedding anniversary during this past full moon. Talk about spectacular viewing! But the most beautiful view actually came as my wife and I were at the summit of Haleakala National Park. At just over 10,000 ft above sea level, most people visit the park to view the sunrise. But when we arrived at the summit, the moon was still pretty high in the sky. By the time the sky had begun to get lighter as the sun was approaching the horizon, the moon was setting. She looked so big! But the most spectacular feature wasn't her size. It was her color. The closer the moon got to the western horizon, she became the incredible shade of orange. Not the pale orange hue we see here in the east, but a bright shade of orange. So orange in fact, that by the time she had begun to disappear in the western sky, she almost took on a shade of orange that looked like she was starting to glow with a hint of red. The sunrise was nice. But the moon stole the show on this morning Very Happy

Blessings,

Draco

There is something haunting in the light of the moon; it has all the dispassionateness of a disembodied soul, and something of its inconceivable mystery.  --Joseph Conrad
