Monday February 21st through Sunday 27th

Astrological Highlights for the week: Mars is mesmerized by a trine to Neptune on Wednesday and it’s Venus’ turn to get dreamy with the planet of imagination on Thursday; also on Thursday Mercury forms an arousing square to Uranus.

If Valentine’s Day was a letdown or just not up to your expectations, we get another sweet opportunity this week to honor the idea of love and romance. Perhaps it’s a chance to rethink how we imagine and create happy lives and healthy relationships. Amidst much worldly chaos and hullabaloo, the cosmic soul mates Venus and Mars are still tightly aligned in Capricorn. Although not known for outward displays of affection, Venus and Mars in this pragmatic Earth sign are as devoted and faithful as it gets. And they are upping their game this week as both make sweet harmonizing connections to Neptune – Mars on Wednesday and Venus on Thursday.

In a bit of cosmic synchronicity, the Moon in Scorpio on Tuesday aligns with all three planets – Venus, Mars, and Neptune. A cosmic sneak peek? It’s time to go deeper in our understanding of the possibilities. Here are the basics. Venus can be described as Yin and receptive. She represents who we love, what we value, and how we attract people and events into our lives. Mars is Yang and extroverted. He is associated with what inspires and motivates us and how we go after what we want. As a cosmic couple they are the complete and complementary package.

Enter Neptune, the dreamer, the weaver of fantasies, illusions, and visions. This is the planet of imagination, ecstasy, mysticism, spirituality, boundlessness, compassion, and empathy. Neptune facilitates our intuition and psychic abilities and reminds us we are spiritual beings connected by a mystical kinship that transcends our physicality. Currently Neptune is powerful and influential transiting through her home sign of Pisces. It’s a fourteen-year transit, and Neptune is in the last third of the cycle.

Paraphrasing Caroline W. Casey, “Neptune dreams, vision, and imagination lay the tracks for the Reality Train (Saturn)”. Sweet! Neptune influences her cosmic colleagues through a non-material realm of the spirit. She reminds us of the possibilities through altered states of consciousness, and alignment with higher spiritual ideals such as love, compassion, forgiveness, empathy, and kindness.

With Mars sextile Neptune (Wednesday) we get a very different view of the warrior planet. Instead of willfulness directed at attaining personal and individual satisfaction, we are likely to experience generosity and a sincere motivation to please and assist others. It’s a marriage of inspiration and motivation. It bodes well not only for romance and relationships but is great energy for pursuing creativity on multiple levels. Our projects are inspired and infused with integrity and higher-level values.

On Thursday the good vibes continue as Venus moves into a sextile with Neptune. This may be a more romantic energy than Wednesday, as Venus is the ruler of sensuous Taurus and relationship-oriented Libra. This is a potent combination of attraction energy. Whether you want to improve a relationship, attract a mate, or magnetize a job, home, or something else, tune in with your intuition and your heart. Intuition is likely to be off the charts! Not to mention love and money. In many astrological traditions, positive connections between Venus and Neptune never fail to create bountiful opportunities for compatible and happy love relationships and successful financial rewards.

These cosmic patterns don’t come around every day, so take advantage of this period. Neptune’s influence on Venus and Mars can be enriching (on many levels!) and remind us of the importance of honoring the synchronicity of interaction. 1 + 1 + 1= 3 is only applicable and reliable when we are talking mathematics. When it comes to synchronizing the energies of the planets, and more importantly of ourselves, 1 + 1 + 1 = ONE.

Until next week, let go and wear loose clothes.

MONDAY
February 21
Moon in Libra/Scorpio
President's Day
The Void of Course Moon enters Scorpio at 4:19am

The Moon entered intense Scorpio in the dark of night, and the mood indeed is likely to be mysterious and complex today. People may feel secretive, defensive, or overly protective. A positive lunar alignment with the Sun in compassionate Pisces in the early morning helps tap into a more forgiving and understanding outlook. However, the Moon’s square to Mercury in Aquarius this afternoon amplifies feelings of alienation or loneliness if people use words to deceive, manipulate others, or to distort the truth.

Although some intentions are transparent, under a Scorpio Moon, opaque layers tend to complicate motivations and issues. If we feel wronged or victimized, we may respond in ways that are very different than our usual positive or light-hearted manner. Have your spiritual toolbox handy! At the first sign of irritation, anxiety, frustration, anger, or distrust, do whatever you can to check your attitude. Wear your favorite rose quartz pendant as a symbol of empathy, repeat a favorite affirmation or mantra, or stash a cotton ball with a calming essential oil in your pocket, briefcase, or handbag. (Lavender is a favorite for calming; Jasmine and Bergamot are believed to counteract too much introspection or negativity. Children and pets are especially sensitive to essential oils, use thoughtfully around them.)

As you go through your day be aware of your thoughts and intentions. Think about how we use our words and power to try to shape the world and others. Be discerning without being suspicious or judgy. In many cases, people who are holding back or distorting the truth today are doing it believing they are powerless and need to defend themselves in an unfair world. Or possibly, they believe they are protecting the world from a harsh reality. Or they simply feel confused and out of control. If someone in power (or who just wants to be!) acts unkindly or in an abusive way, recognize they are likely feeling insecure. The answer to this is to go back to our foundations. Connect with an inner source of power and stability that is unshakable instead of expecting a person or external event to make you feel safe. Wherever possible, demonstrate by your behavior there is another way to interpret events. Think for yourself and be wary of accepting information or explanations that don’t resonate as loving, kind, or truthful.

Tonight, as the Moon opposes Uranus, the mood is impulsive and rebellious. Not exactly the soothing and low-key evening we were hoping for. But relief is on the way for night owls as the Moon slips into a harmonizing trine with hopeful Jupiter in compassionate Pisces. Our faith is restored, and we can see the silver lining in the darkest cloud.

Daily Muse: Gossip is the Devil's radio: Don't be a broadcaster…Since our problems have been our own creation They also can be overcome When we use the power provided free to everyone. This is love. (George Harrison – Moon in Scorpio; Sun and Venus in Pisces)

TUESDAY
February 22
Moon in Scorpio

After a cranky start, today gets better and better as the hands of the clock move around the dial. The Scorpio Moon is feeling conflicted this morning as it squares Saturn in Aquarius. This could be a carryover from yesterday or a new troublesome interaction on our morning path. Authoritarian Saturn may represent someone exerting power over us or manipulating in some way. Beware, this could be our own voice whispering fears in our ears! If we resist looking at something we need to address, the voice will feel uncomfortable. All in all, taking time to pay attention to our intuition will prove to be empowering. Things seen in the light are not nearly as scary as they appear in the dark. Look at what you are resisting and be open to a revelation.

As promised, things get sweeter this afternoon as the Moon forms positive and harmonizing sextiles to Venus and Mars in devoted Capricorn. Passion is another name for Scorpio! This bodes well for genuine and loving connections with others in our lives and is a herald of things to come during the next couple of days. We stop listening to our fears and instead tap into our passion and our loves. This afternoon we are not running away or reacting, we are embracing and engaging with who and what we love. Be ready for a rekindled romance or a renewed interest in a job, hobby, or activity.

In late afternoon Luna forms a strong bond with Neptune in Pisces. Intuition flows and we feel in better alignment with ourselves and with the world. Yep, there is still craziness out there, but we are viewing everything through a new lens. Date night anyone?

Daily Muse: WE THINK, sometimes, there's not a dragon left. Not one brave knight, not a single princess gliding through secret forests, enchanting deer, and butterflies with her smile. We think sometimes that ours is an age past frontiers, past adventures. Destiny, it's way over the horizon; glowing shadows galloped past long ago and gone. What a pleasure to be wrong. (Richard Bach - Moon sextile Venus and Mars)

WENSDAY
February 23
Moon in Scorpio/Sagittarius
The Moon goes Void of Course 1:24am enters Sagittarius 5:29am

It’s a whole new ball game on Wednesday with the Moon emerging from the depths of Scorpio to the sunlit paths of Sagittarius. Mid-afternoon the Moon squares the Sun in Pisces taking us into the fourth quarter of the lunar cycle. Even though quarter Moon’s can be challenging energy, the next few days are under the spell of mystical shape-shifting Neptune. Today, Mars forms a harmonizing sextile to the planet of dreams, and tomorrow Venus sextiles Neptune.

Mars in Capricorn connecting to Neptune in Pisces is a beneficial alignment that goes way beyond luck. This helps us connect personal will and motivation with higher spiritual values like compassion, empathy, and compassion. Usually when we are talking about Mars, we’re looking at “I want”. The positive influence of Neptune can transcend personal desires channeling them into genuine sensitivity, generosity, and a sincere motivation to be helpful and of assistance to others. This is also fabulous energy for translating dreams into reality as we are decisive about acting on our ideas and inspirations. We are not afraid to take a chance and tend to act with less ego interference than at other times.

As a bonus, tonight Mercury in Aquarius forms a sextile with Chiron in Aries. This is a helpful energy as we can view our fears and perceived “wounds” with more objectivity and hopefulness. For some it may feel like a confirmation of worthiness, for others a clear message to stop listening to and believing silly fears and worries.

Late tonight Luna also connects with Mercury. This provides the opportunity for valuable soul searching or a lively conversation. As a gentle warning, the quarter Moon in Sagittarius is more than a truth seeker, it can get adamant about what it believes to be right. Mercury in Aquarius views being opinionated and outspoken as virtues. Need I say more?
Daily Muse: Inspiration does exist, but it must find you working…Action is the foundational key to all success. (Pablo Picasso – Moon in Sagittarius; Mars sextile Neptune)

THURSDAY
February 24
Moon in Sagittarius
The Moon goes Void of Course 7:24pm

Neptune’s ability to mesmerize continues today as Venus in Capricorn moves into a sweet sextile with the planet of imagination and dreams. Unlike motivational Mars’ connection to Neptune yesterday, Venus can be a bit lazy, relying on her good looks and charm. But don’t be too critical, Venus excels at attracting what she desires. And don’t forget she is currently transiting through determined and efficient Capricorn.

Please give yourself permission to spend this morning with a spiritual practice, escaping into creative daydreaming, or enjoying a romantic tryst. Don’t waste this luscious pairing of Venus and her higher octave, Neptune. If our day requires typical routines and activities, we can still embrace imagination and enlist the transcendental vision of Neptune to guide our way. Why not do it to music?

Daydreams are prevalent but hopefully not distracting enough to keep us in an altered state of consciousness for long. In fact, the Sagittarian Moon’s connection to disciplined Saturn mid-day will gently shake us awake setting the foundation for a productive afternoon.

This evening, a not so soothing clash between Mercury in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus may sound like a shouting match. In truth, it might be a raucous row! Both signs are part of the Fixed Modality meaning they are resistant to change and persistent in their beliefs and actions. Mercury is forward thinking in Aquarius and likely preaching evolution and change while Uranus’ response is rebellious and unpredictable. Unless we particularly enjoy engaging in loud and boisterous exchanges, we may need to take a step away.

It will be helpful to remember our point of view is relative to our experiences and point of reference. If we truly want to be open to new information and ideas, we need to be aware of the lenses we see through and how our assumptions and beliefs literally structure our reality. Let’s be candid and honest, we may believe we are willing to change, but admitting to being wrong? That’s something else entirely.

We are still under the influence of a waning quarter Sagittarian Moon with a big investment in being right. Humility may be in short supply. If you do get into an argument tonight, consider the long-term effects on your relationship. Mercy, tolerance, and kindness can go a long way to keeping the door open for future agreement even if we can’t find common ground tonight. The Moon’s square to Neptune could provide an opportunity to access feelings of connection and love, but more likely it increases our sensitivity and allows emotions to cloud our judgment and confuse our perceptions. If alcohol or drugs are on board this evening, it’s even more likely our reality will be distorted. Tonight, we are “under the influence” but tomorrow is another day.

Daily Muse: Recognize the oneness of it all and yet see the diversity. The ability to shift about in your awareness gives you the knowledge that reality is relative to the point of reference in your consciousness. The greater the perspective the greater your consciousness. A universal consciousness allows you to be omnipresent and omni-talented. (James Wanless – Voyager Tarot)

FRIDAY
February 25
Moon in Sagittarius/Capricorn
The Void of Course Moon enters Capricorn 8:27am

After several days of indulging in possibilities, the Moon’s arrival in earthy Capricorn this morning points to the need to ground our ideas and dreams. Capricorn is all in for manifestation but ruled by Saturn, this Moon is taking a hard look at available resources and expectations of return on investments.

If you find you are pulling back a bit, emotionally or when it comes to generosity of your time, money, or affections, you are not alone. The Moon along with Venus and Mars are in patient and cautious Capricorn and all three are moving closer to no-nonsense Pluto. (The Moon joins Venus, Mars, and Pluto this Sunday; and Venus and Mars touch base with Pluto on March 3.)

Today we’re acutely aware of “how much things cost” which includes not only the financial price tag but the emotional one as well. If we are feeling overextended financially or overwhelmed by responsibilities, we are eager to re-evaluate and readjust. If we have been exaggerating or being unrealistic about our future income or available resources, it’s time to plan how to balance the in and out columns on our spreadsheets. In relationships this is a good time to separate fantasy from reality as well. Do we have realistic expectations of our partnership, of ourselves and our partner?

Don’t let fear be your guide. Look at conflicting attitudes about money, relationships and what you believe you deserve. Sometimes being generous sends the right message to our psyches – we are ok – and we can share; no need to be stingy. The Moon’s positive connection to the Sun in Pisces late tonight affirms our suspicions – we are all in this together.

Daily Muse: I have a theory about the assists we get in life. Only rarely can we repay those people who helped us, but we can pass that help along to others. (Lucille Ball – Moon in Capricorn)

SATURDAY
February 26
Moon in Capricorn

Positive lunar alignments to Uranus, Jupiter, and Neptune, contrast with the cautious nature of this Capricorn Moon. We might say they are well-timed and welcome as this upbeat and encouraging energy acts as a counterbalance to an emotional tone that leans toward being overly serious.

In the early morning, Uranus reminds us to find interest and delight in the unfamiliar and unusual. Something in our lives is probably feeling stuck, but is that such a bad thing? Maybe the unusual message coming from Uranus is to wrap our minds around some alternative thinking. Maybe what looks like being stuck or bored is really our attempt to sit and catch our breath. We get addicted to constant stimulation and motion, so much so that calm is something we believe we can only experience by buying a phone app. (No offense intended – the Calm app has some really nice features.) Message from Uranus – we need to hear something stimulating even if it’s the novel idea we need to slow down and do nothing.

It’s hard to feel pessimistic when the Moon connects with creative Jupiter in imaginative Pisces. Ok, maybe we should rethink doing nothing. But before launching into any activity today, ask yourself what will feed your soul.

Tonight, there is more feel-good energy as Luna connects with Neptune in Pisces. Never a better time for music, movies, or entertainment to help us shift gears into another reality. A good omen for sweet dreams and a peaceful sleep.

Daily Muse: You must learn to be still in the midst of activity and vibrantly alive in repose. (Indira Gandhi – Moon in Capricorn)

SUNDAY
February 27
Moon in Capricorn/ Aquarius
Moon goes Void of Course 6:49am enters Aquarius 10:36am

On her way to rendezvous with Pluto early this morning, the Capricorn Moon touched base with Venus and Mars for inspiration and motivation. With her merger with Pluto, we embrace practicality and pragmatism. What’s the point of being dreamers if we don’t ever act on them? Over the last two days we may have felt cautious and reticent about putting ourselves out there. Today we are willing to invest ourselves – and likely our money and resources too. We are prudent and efficient, but realize wisdom, experience, and good sense need be shared for the benefit of the collective. Transformational Pluto has a way of putting things into stark perspective.

We may be seeking some alone time to gather our thoughts, catch up on our sleep, or plan our next great adventure. The Capricorn Moon is not anti-social but expect that people will want some personal time today – unscheduled and without responsibilities suggested by others. This is a great time to pursue a solitary hobby or sport or just clear our space and heads.

Late tonight the Moon aspires to the realm of the mind as it slips quietly into airy Aquarius. Ambitions are laid aside in preference for relaxation and a good story.

Daily Muse: My importance to the world is relatively small. On the other hand, my importance to myself is tremendous. I am all I have to work with, to play with, to suffer and to enjoy. It is not the eyes of others that I am wary of, but of my own. I do not intend to let myself down more than I can possibly help, and I find that the fewer illusions I have about myself or the world around me, the better company I am for myself. Monday February 28th through Sunday March 6th

Astrological Highlights for the week: Sun sextile Uranus on Tuesday; New Moon in Pisces on Wednesday with Mercury joined with Saturn; Mars and Venus both conjunct Pluto on Thursday; Sun explores new possibilities with Jupiter on Saturday; Mars and Venus both enter Aquarius on Saturday and the two converge for a meeting of the minds.

It's a week for new cycles and beginnings. Astrologically speaking new cycles are initiated when two celestial bodies are conjunct – sharing the same zodiac sign and degree. Of course, they are not spatially or physically joined, but symbolically they become one and give birth to a new energetic cycle. It happens every twenty-nine and one-half days when the Sun and Moon routinely meet up.

There are other hookups this week spinning off new cycles including Mercury joining Saturn at 18 Aquarius an hour before the New Moon on Wednesday morning; both Mars and Venus merge with Pluto on Thursday at 27 Capricorn; The Sun becomes one with Jupiter at 15 Pisces on Saturday morning and later that night Cosmic Soul Mates, Venus and Mars, hold hands and leap into Aquarius where they become one. What better time to think about companionship and the power of synchronicity? Who we spend time with matters!

Let’s look at them chronologically. Mercury’s conjunction with serious Saturn in Aquarius suggests the beginning of a period of cautious and creative intellect. This year-long cycle will be characterized by the desire to correct personal imperfections in thinking and communication and hopefully in the collective. This energy favors objective and logical thinking with an emphasis on math and science. Think Prometheus! We are interested in finding and demonstrating truth through disciplined and systematic means. This is a great time to tackle an intellectual or communication project and to improve our mastery in these areas. Development might be slow, as building foundations under the tutelage of Saturn is a methodical process. Consistency between our word and our actions is important as Saturn is the planet of responsibility. Careful to avoid mistakes or jumping to conclusions we can turn ideas into action and physical reality. Both Edgar Cayce and Albert Einstein were born with Mercury conjunct Saturn. We are in good company!

The New Moon on Wednesday morning (Conjunction between the Sun and Moon) moves us beyond the superficial ideas about connection. Pisces, ruled by Neptune easily represents our spiritual and non-physical nature. Joining is less about bodies and more about the merging of souls. Whenever we claim “we are one” we are talking about something other than our physical bodies with their varied differences and preferences. The New Moon entices us like a mermaid, to dive into an altered state of consciousness where physical rules and boundaries have little to no influence. This Pisces otherworldly aura will be intoxicating with Jupiter (traditional ruler of Pisces) sitting right next door to the Sun and Moon, and Neptune, the modern ruler, also in Pisces. The Pisces New Moon is a dreamer, conjuring up a multitude of ideas from it’s creative and fertile imagination. As a creature of another realm, the Pisces New Moon is usually plagued with lots of ideas and no concrete plan to initiate or implement. Not true in 2022! The pragmatic energy of Mercury conjunct Saturn just an hour before the New Moon suggests we will be able to combine ideas, methods, and plans for manifestation.

Thursday begins with Mars and Pluto joining forces. To be candid, any interaction with Pluto, the Transformer, is potent. Energetic Mars can access unlimited energy under this influence. He’s a dynamo! The tendency toward fierce competition, aggression, and the need to dominate people and situations will be a test of character. With both planets in pragmatic and responsible Capricorn, this cycle could be marked by dramatic progress and manifestation. The last energetic push necessary to create something in the physical world is more than doable during this period. Successful and positive results are dependent on pulling to Capricorn’s strengths including discipline, organization, focus, patience, and persistence. Bette Midler and Princess Diana were both born with Mars conjunct Pluto. (Mars won’t meet up with Pluto again until February of 2024 with both planets in Aquarius.)

Also on Thursday, Venus joins Pluto in Capricorn. We might draw similarities with the above and we won’t be completely off base. Venus is the planet of values and attraction. Under the influence of Pluto, we may feel more compulsive about attracting what we want, and certainly more intent on satisfaction when it comes to love and money. The yin, gentle, and receptive nature of Venus can find the powerful and obsessive quality of plutonian transformation a challenge. Don’t look for sweet romantic fantasies, or naivete. In fact, this cycle may help us move beyond superficial ideas about love, money, and other things. The worthwhile message here is to be smart about it. Use the truth to cut through ignorance and illusions. Create financial stability and build worthwhile relationships through commitment and responsibility. Use Capricorn devotion, diligence, and clarity to identify what you want and how to align with your goals. Amelia Earhart was born with Venus conjunct Pluto in Gemini! (Venus will meet Pluto next on December 31, 2022)

The Sun conjunct Jupiter is an annual affair that buoys our optimism and sense of hope. It’s an energy that restores our faith and decreases our fear of the unknown and unfamiliar. Although it’s considered a lucky aspect and a blessing to those born under its rainbow, we might find those people who have used this lucky charm to its full advantage have done so by persevering through adversity, working their butts off, and never giving up. They likely have a strong spiritual connection or personal philosophy that includes always looking for the silver lining and keeping faith in their ultimate success and happiness. There are no obstacles, just opportunities. With the Sun and Jupiter meeting in Pisces on Saturday, creativity and intuition are off the charts. But Pisces is notoriously ill prepared when it comes to real-life strategies and maintaining appropriate boundaries. Thank goodness for those planets in earthy Capricorn. They will help us glean the luck and promise from this joining by providing a bit of structure for Pisces dreams to flow through. (Nora Ephron and Maya Angelou have Sun conjunct Jupiter in their natal charts.)

Our final conjunction of the week occurs late Saturday night when Venus joins Mars less than an hour after both leap hand-in-hand into Aquarius. They are making a fresh start of things after their mutual meetings with Pluto on Thursday. We should too! Like two complementary sides of a coin, they naturally teach us to respect differences as a dynamic part of togetherness. Soul mates are not identical twins, they are complementary pieces, whole within themselves and creating new “wholes” by their collaborative interaction.

Our unity is greater than the sum of our parts. Aquarian relationships are based on friendship, and a strong foundation of like attracts like. Watch for this underlying influence during the next two years encouraging strong partnerships built on mingling different approaches, gifts, and strengths, under a guiding principle of shared goals and interests.

As you can see, there is a repeating pattern this week of planets coming together in conjunctions to begin new designs and cycles. It can make our heads spin, but nevertheless finding one or more that is interesting might prove to be a guiding light in the times ahead. If nothing else it is entertaining and thought provoking!

Until next week, let go and wear loose clothes.

MONDAY
February 28
Moon in Aquarius
The Moon goes Void of Course 6:01pm

The Moon in forward-thinking Aquarius is feeling philosophical today. Ordinarily philosophy is the realm of Sagittarius, but an Aquarian Moon can get theoretical too, especially in the last few days of the lunar cycle (New Moon on Wednesday). An early lunar square to Uranus stirs up dissatisfaction, and yet we seem to know through experience there are many things out of our personal control. We tend to take things in stride and understand endless time spent complaining about what’s wrong with the world won’t change anything except our mood. As the Moon wanes into the shadows, our efforts are efficient and productive when we attend to practical matters rather than indulging in endless mind games of what could have or should have happened.

Although we could slip into a bit of apathy today, it’s not likely with this mental Moon joining Mercury this afternoon and Saturn this evening. We may not be able to change the past, but hope cannot be denied. It’s worth exploring options for the future, talking through ideas, and even suggesting potential plans.

With all three planets in humanitarian Aquarius, we are motivated to be innovative and experimental in our thinking to be the change in our own lives and in the collective. Participating in social, charitable, and philanthropic causes and being part of the conversation for social change are positive and worthwhile activities today. Socialize, share ideas, and remember to keep it friendly.

Daily Muse: The environmental movement is not about protecting the fishes and the birds so much as recognizing that nature is the infrastructure of our communities ... If you're saying the values that drive the environmental movement are uncool and antithetical to America, then I would argue just the opposite…The most patriotic thing you can do is to take care of the environment and try to live sustainably. (John F. Kennedy Jr. – Moon in Aquarius)

TUESDAY
March 1
Moon in Aquarius/Pisces
Mardi Gras
The Void of Course Moon enters Pisces at 12:53pm

Yesterday’s thoughts and conversations may feel like falling leaves into a river or pond being caught by a current, swirling around and eventually disappearing beneath the surface. They are not gone, just part of another world beyond where the body’s senses can find them. The whole day has a dreamy feel as the Moon in Aquarius is void of course throughout the morning. The sense of living in an altered state of consciousness continues and deepens through the afternoon as the Moon eases into dissolving and flowing Pisces mid-day. All Pisces Moons have an otherworldly quality and especially on this last day of the lunar cycle.

With no lunar connections and the only planetary interactions occurring late tonight, we are invited to be introspective and thoughtful. This Moon has a deep desire for reunion with a spiritual source and an authentic connection to the universe. Spiritual disciplines are highly encouraged as well as activities that allow us to unplug from the frenzied pace of our lives. “Spiritual” can include anything and everything that nurtures our true non-physical being and don’t need to be ritualized or stuffy. Walking outside with our faces turned to the sun can be a powerful reminder to look to our source for guidance, warmth, and comfort.

Spending time in reflection and connection today is the perfect prelude to tonight’s cosmic highlight. The Sun in Pisces forms a harmonizing sextile to Uranus in Taurus in late evening, and we likely feel the growing enlightenment throughout the day. This beneficial connection holds promise and hope. We embrace the idea of self-improvement and enjoy ideas and activities that stimulate open-mindedness and growth. Unlike some of the more challenging aspects between the Sun and Uranus, the excitement generated tonight feels good! We are highly creative and plugged into our intuition and psychic abilities. Impending change is welcome, refreshing, and feels like opportunity. As the planet of shattering limitations, we can embrace Uranus as a tool for releasing unnecessary defenses that keep us from authentic self-expression.

Daily Muse: I'm not likely to be attracted to characters I've already done. I have to be almost frightened by the possibility of taking it on. Over the years, I realize I must enjoy walking that edge; I keep doing it. (Mark Harmon Sun sextile Uranus)

WENSDAY
March 2
New Moon in 12 ºPisces 9:35am
Ash Wednesday

The New Moon in Pisces this morning is preceded by another important new beginning. Mercury joins Saturn in Aquarius. Depending on retrograde motions of both planets these two get together for a serious planning session about once a year and today happens to be the day. Cautious Saturn advises us to listen to both sides of the story, use our rational minds and intuition, and be slow to reveal our wisdom or secrets to untrustworthy elements or those who might treat it without respect or integrity.

The above helps set a useful structure as the New Moon in Pisces deals not in realities but in dreams, illusions, fantasies, creativity, and imagination. The New Moon energy helps us see beyond physical limitations to a reality that exists within and beyond the physical universe. Keep those journals and notebooks nearby; you will want to capture your ideas, visions, intuitions, and psychic hits. Like sand sculptures on the beach and nighttime dreams, they disappear quickly if we don’t plan ahead.

The Sun and Moon sit adjacent to good luck charm Jupiter today. This expands the possibilities of the imagination and can be powerfully intoxicating energy. Plus, a lunar sextile to Uranus prior to the New Moon further encourages leaving rules and limits behind. The Mercury Saturn conjunction, along with Venus, Mars, and Pluto in earthy Capricorn suggest we might be able to bring some of these New Moon visions and intentions into reality, but we’ll eventually have to be decisive in separating the gems from the fool’s gold and false gods. Today, enjoy the process letting the imagination run free. Today is for dreamers and giving ourselves permission to imagine something different and better.

Daily Muse: Student: “Dr. Einstein, aren't these the same questions as last year's [physics] final exam? Dr. Einstein: “Yes; But this year the answers are different.” (Albert Einstein – Sun in Pisces, Mercury conjunct Saturn in Aries)

THURSDAY
March 3
Moon in Pisces/Aries
The Moon goes Void of Course 1:45pm enters Aries 4:52pm

It’s likely to be a very intense day as both Mars and Venus – currently in determined Capricorn – meet up with Pluto, the Transformer. (On average Mars and Pluto meet every two or so years and Venus meets Pluto once a year). With the cosmic soul mates drawing closer to their own rendezvous on Saturday, today’s plutonian unions are likely to be profound. The Mars Pluto connection occurs in the early morning hours but will not dissipate come sun rise. We can expect high energy as Mars’ willfulness is fueled by Pluto’s no-nonsense determination. This can be a very competitive and aggressive energy and therefore hard to control. Be prepared. We can make great progress toward goals, but only with the use of a pre-arranged strategy, discipline, and patience. Don’t play with fire if you are flammable. Have a plan for how to channel your own high energy, drives, and ambitions.

Venus meets Pluto in early morning. The gift is getting crystal clear on priorities and having the determination to leave behind what doesn’t work. This pattern will be operational through the end of the year working as a background theme. Today we may experience aha moments which likely are precipitated by dramatic moments and events. When the smoke clears from both Mars and Venus joining Pluto, clarity and purpose will be in abundance.

On an emotional level, the dreamy Pisces Moon can either be a savior or an escape route. Her positive connections to Pluto, Venus, and Mars can provide a different lens through which to view our lives and the world. These Pisces lunar connections remind us we are one on a spiritual level and what is perceived by the physical senses is not the whole story. It may not even be an important part of the story, but it’s where our identity as a human being focuses our attention. Pisces reminds us there is more.

Things might continue to heat up this evening as the Moon marches into headstrong Aries. We are acting from instinct and probably a tad restless. This Moon energy can be childlike and engaging or infuriatingly demanding.

Daily Muse: I had a hard-scrabble childhood with my parents. I have a lot of baggage. To come down to the footlights and accept the audience's affection inside a Broadway theater - that didn't come easily to me…I hope to keep entertaining in some way until I can't physically entertain any longer. It's what I was born to do, and I love this profession. (Bette Midler – Mars conjunct Pluto in Leo)

FRIDAY
March 4
Moon in Aries

On the surface today seems amazingly quiet with no lunar or planetary interactions. But looks are deceiving as there is much going on underneath the surface. We are processing the insights of yesterday’s interactions and looking forward to another action-packed day tomorrow. The rapids may be behind us, but we still need to carefully guide our raft through this quickly moving stream of consciousness.

The Aries Moon needs something to do! He’s no couch potato. Channel restless energy constructively through exercise, sports, or other activity. One good use of our high levels of physical, mental, and emotional energy is to act on a plan. Physical is best if you have a goal with a task. Going on a trip or vacation? Start preparing. Do the laundry, shop for travel-size toiletries and hand sanitizer, locate your luggage, make arrangements with the dog sitter, and start packing. You get the picture. This is not a day for sitting around and thinking. You can think while you move. Independent and courageous Aries needs action! If all else fails, clean; and when you are finished with your house you can come to mine.

Mid-day the Moon connects with Chiron. Tempted to feel sorry for yourself or indulge in negative self-talk? The solution is the same – get moving. Do something active and constructive. You can brood later if you have the energy to.

Daily Muse: Human beings are born with the instinct to express themselves through movement. Even before he could communicate with words, primitive man was dancing to the beat of his own heart. (Bob Fosse – Moon in Aries)

SATURDAY
March 5
Moon in Aries
Mars enters Aquarius 10:23p
Venus enters Aquarius 10:30p
The Moon goes Void of Course at 8:02pm

The day is off to an optimistic start with the Sun in Pisces joining Jupiter. Although it’s considered a lucky aspect and a blessing to those born under its rainbow, we might find those people who have used this lucky charm to its full advantage have done so by persevering through adversity, working their butts off, and never giving up. They likely have a strong spiritual connection or personal philosophy that includes always looking for the silver lining and keeping the faith in their ultimate success and happiness. There are no obstacles, just opportunities. Creativity and intuition are in abundant supply for those with the resourcefulness to use them.

This hot air balloon can also provide a respite to overworked minds and overwhelmed agendas. Think positive and find something to celebrate. A lunar connection to Mercury in Aquarius mid-day suggests lunch or physical activity with a friend should prove entertaining and uplifting.

Moving into the evening we have a flashback to earlier in the week as the Moon in Aries squares Pluto. Something we denied or swept out of our consciousness may make a return visit. But our attention is likely on something else – namely Venus and Mars which both leap into Aquarius within minutes of each other late tonight. We know they are conspiring together since less than an hour later we find them holding hands in a pre-arranged tryst.

Venus and Mars are important energies when it comes to personal relationships. Venus is associated with what we find attractive while Mars represents the external energy of going after what we want. Aquarius is experimental, unconventional, and willingly ignores social norms and standards. Be that as it may, Aquarius is the sign of friendship and is big on companionship and spending time with others of like mind. This mental air sign thrives on thoughts, ideas, and communication and therefore stimulating social interaction. When it comes to love and romance Aquarius is independent, and values fairness and the equality of partners. Intelligence and communication skills are valuable attributes in a friend or mate.

Mars in Aquarius motivates us toward unconventional and futuristic ideas, activities, and causes. Although this Uranus-ruled sign likes to be part of a group, independence and freedom, factor strongly in choices and ultimately, they don’t mind being an outcast if belonging means acquiescing to unacceptable ideas or opinions. Labels of rebel, revolutionary, or heretic are worn with pride.

The conjunction of Venus and Mars in the first degree of Aquarius underscores the energy of awareness and the importance of shattering limitations during their respective transits through this sign. During the next month and as a continuing theme over the next two years (until they meet again) is the idea strong partnerships are built on mingling different but complementary approaches, gifts, and strengths, under a guiding principle of shared goals and interests.

Daily Muse Societies that treat women badly are dangerous societies. The empowerment of women is not only morally right it is also practical in the positive impact it has on so many social ills…Today’s headlines and history’s judgment are rarely the same. If you are too attentive to the former you will most certainly not do the hard work of securing the latter. (Condoleezza Rice – Mars in Aquarius)

SUNDAY
March 6
Moon in Taurus
The Void of Course enters Taurus 12:00am

Are we done yet? After a busy week, we are ready for respite and to some extent, the Moon’s quiet entry into comfort-loving Taurus should help. However, the Moon quickly squares both Mars and Venus in Aquarius and works its way toward a combustible conjunction to Uranus late tonight.

With lunar aspects being short-lived, we may hardly notice most of the above. It may be as if Mars and Venus in Aquarius take another shot at introducing ideas into our nighttime dreams. They have ambitious plans and don’t want them to be muzzled by the sedate and quiet demeanor of Taurus. No real chance of this! If possible, take this day as a break in the routine. Purposefully shake things up by refusing to be hurried or rushed. Attend to the necessities at a comfortable and thoughtful pace.

Late tonight the Moon’s connection to Uranus serves as a stimulant resulting in our feeling impatient or restless. We may be emotionally overreactive especially in situations where we feel we are being manipulated or controlled. If your schedule allows a late-night movie, nature documentary, podcast, or conversation, indulge. This may be a way to calm a hyperactive mind and soothe a high-strung nervous system. The best topics are ones associated with Taurus – nature, gardening, interior design, sensuality, cooking, and food. You may want to avoid anything that will arouse discontent like “Lifestyles of the rich and famous” unless you find them inspiring.

Daily Muse: Enemies are so stimulating. (Katharine Hepburn – Moon in Taurus along with Sun and Mercury)
