Okay so yeah I was raised catholic. I think many of us were. But I was also raised in a somewhat constructive family that encouraged almost all kinds of thinking (except anything relative to witchcraft, santeria, etc.) - which was very ironic considering my father fueled my interest in strange and arcane objects of worship by buying me a candleholder that looked strikingly like the head and face of a fertility god from either greek or celtic mythology; not to mention a stele of asclepius and his caduceus (from the time he went to Greece).
I grew up as a child in an environment that was a blend of Catholicism and Santeria (Hialeah-Miami area, south florida). Also my brother's first wife, who lived with us when i was about 9 - 11, was Wiccan, and used to take me with her to various botanicas around town.
Then between 12 and 22 grew up in central florida, by my roman catholic parents. Even though I was raised in this environment (a strong religious environment), and I was a strongly religious person, I sort of taught myself witchcraft from the age of 16 onward. So to be accurate, there may be a wider array of influences in my life than I can allude to by simply answering this survey. |

Just seeing their indifference, for one another's beliefs, turned me away from "organized" religion at an early age. I am not a religious person, however, I keep my spirituality intact by meditation through nature. |
