It should be legalized for medical puposes, but it should be illegal to smoke. Pill or liquid extract form would eliminate the association with "stoker culutre" and protect those of us who could lose our jobs from having it in our blood stream from second hand smoke.

Absolutely, for adults only. I'm hoping if it's legalized then more standards will be put into place, and it will be taken off the streets, and out of the hands of children. Same as liquor. Yes I know that some children will still get their hands on weed, and some still today can get their hands on booze, but the percentage will be less.

We're having a hell of a time trying to get the Canadian Gov't to think the same way. While many agree, including medical professionals (including my father, who never used the drug) it's a safe effective painkiller, it helps those with eating disorders, and really - how many people who are high get into fights? It doesn't happen, although they may put a scorpion on ya if yer sleeping. Heh, that thing was friendly, never stung anyone and would chase your finger around to get scritched. When I was in a lot of pain and having a hard time walking after high school, I'd go to my friends house. My dads an RN and I told him "this is the first thing that has worked!" He just told me - as far as he was concerned it should be legal, but don't let my mom know. I haven't needed to use it medically now for about a year, and I don't smoke casually very often - once in like a year on special occasions. Not to mention; here in Canada we don't have drug wars on weed here. If you grow it and sell it (hell some give it away to friends) you don't have to worry about getting shot by rivals. Hell, Rivals are just what we call friends better at bongo's than you. I personally believe that if it was Legal - they're be less of a drug problem as well. It would be like going out to the bar to drink- suddenly you won't think "hey, if this is what it's like to be on illegal drugs... I wonder what the harder stuff is like!?" It's an unfortunate affect played on younger generations who try weed, then E (which I won't try, heard to many stories of kids dying from it after a dose...) and Meth is super easy to get here. If weed was legal... there would always be a drug problem, but suddenly you're dealing with a lot smaller population. A LOT SMALLER. So, that's my two cents on the debate. It's not going to be easy for the Gov't, but they really gotta take a look at things.

I voted for medicinal purposes only, however, I see and hear of so many young people(17-21) that get caught with small amounts of marijuana. Yes, I mean to say first time offenders. Alot of young adults get sucked into the "vortex" of crime over such a minor offense. I don't mean to say that anyone should be under the influence of pot while operating a motor vehicle or working around machinery....that would be stupid.
