Hello and Merry Meet everyone. I am so excited about these classes. I’ve always wished for something like this. Reading books and studying by your self is important, and necessary. But, it’s just different when you have real people to ask questions too, and bounce ideas off of. I learn better this way.
I am a 34 year old divorced mom of three lovely children ages 16, 13, & 12.
I work a lot, and when I’m not working I’m doing something for my kids, or working around the house. So, I have very little free time for things I want to do. I am writing this intro at work on my 30 min. lunch break. LOL
I’m already so far behind in the lessons!! I’m starting to get a bit worried that I may fall REALLY behind due to my schedule. But, I will do my best to keep up.
In my very little free time I enjoy reading. Some of my favorite authors are Anne Rice, Dan Brown, Robert Jordan. There are to many to mention here. I love lots of different writers. I love computers, writing poetry and prose. I enjoy drawing and working with plants and animals. I also like to cook.
I was brought up in a strictly Pentecostal Christian home. We went to church three times a week, Sunday morning & night and Wednesday. My mom was a Sunday school teacher. We almost never missed church. If there was a revival we went EVERY DAY. I was taught witchcraft was the same thing as Satanism. Witches performed human sacrifices to worship the devil. Witches were bad, bad, bad evil beings that needed Christ the Lord to save their souls before they died and went to hell to suffer torment and damnation for all eternity.
Meanwhile, as a very small child I could see spirits. I could hear them, and feel them touch me. They were near me all the time. Which scared me to death most of the time. No one believed me. I was the one the adults would say, that has the “over-active imagination”. I was always a very sensitive child. I could feel others feelings as if they were my own. Which was very confusing.
As I got older I began to study other religions. I had all the wrong ideas of what witchcraft was. So, of course I went on all the wrong paths. I didn’t have anyone to help guide me correctly. All I knew was what Hollywood, and the church says about witchcraft. Both are WRONG.
Of course I could not let my family see me with any material about paganism. So everything was done in secret. This was the age before computers and Internet access to just about any information you might be interested in. So, coming across any good material was almost impossible for me.
It’s been a long journey but I’ve always, ALWAYS known I was different. My grandmother I believe is also a witch, but she doesn’t know it. She is deeply rooted in Christianity. But, she loves nature, and plants her garden by the moon. I don’t believe I actually chose this path. I believe it must have chosen me. It’s been who I was before I knew anything about it. It’s really hard to be different than everyone in your family. Especially when you are a child.
From these classes I hope to learn how to use my knowledge in my everyday life. Because all I’ve had are books and “me, myself, and I” to learn from, I’ve always thought I’m doing it wrong when I try a ritual or spell. Even casting a circle I feel inadequate. I hope to gain confidence in myself to know that I’m “doing it right”. I also hope to make some really good friends from us learning together.
I hope to learn who I really am and what I really want out of life, and how to accept and love myself. “Know Thyself” is so important to any witch. I have a good start on that. I do feel that I have delved into the mystery of my. But, I am insecure with myself, and I don’t know how to get past that. I have had to hide who I am as long as I can remember. As a child I thought that something must be wrong with me. That has carried over to my adult life.
I have lived my life for others for so long. I need to get my feet firmly grounded in who I am and be happy with who I am no matter what others think.
I’ve got to get back to work. My lunch break is over now. If I lag behind it’s not because I’m not interested. I just will have trouble finding the time to sit down and really think about, and pour my heart into my lessons. I think 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday will be fine for me to have a class in the chat room. Most Sunday’s in the evening will also be fine for me. If ever I am not there though it’s because I’ve been pulled away and couldn’t make it. If you ever have a class before 6:00 pm I will probably not be able to join you at all. So, 8:00 p.m. will work best for me almost any day.
Bright Blessing to everyone,
Lady_Jade
