Okay.. I know this may or may not sound weird, but yesterday I noticed a very weird phenomenon in my house. It was infestated with flies--the common house fly. I have no idea where they are coming from. I cleaned my house from top to bottom, and in the morning I woke up to a whole gathering of flies in my kitchen ceiling. It was unlike anything I have ever seen. I don't know if this has a meaning, but I spent all morning spraying them with bleach and killing them. I don't like to kill, but these pests had to go! Has anyone encountered this? I came home from work today and I didn't see as many, but there were still a few. I think I managed to get them all.. (crossing fingers). Does this have a special meaning? --like an evil eye or something? or something to come? What should I do? Thank you!

Love the insight on flies from the shamanic perspective!

On a more mundane note, I had that problem (along with neighbors) in Colorado. Literally hundreds and hundreds of house flies would appear in my house each summer, then mysteriously stop about a month later. I also could not find a source of entry, kept my house clean, and tried bug-bombing them out - but I would end up sweeping up piles of fly corpses each day. Very oogy. I was told by the locals that the particular area had been having that penomenon for many years, just put up with it and in a few weeks, they would be gone. We moved (chuckle - not because of the flies, although that was tempting, but it just worked out that way.)

I have had this problem too. I noticed the flies are drawn to the south west corner of any house I live in. I have pets and the doors are constantly being opened. I figured the flies come in because the house is cooler and darker. I wiped down the whole area with a water & vinegar solution and the problem is lessening. Flies leave a spot where they land and this seems to attract other flies. Hope this is helpful.

This isn't at all insightful, but if you want to get rid of the flies without killing them, you could try this: get a mason jar or a zip-lock bag, fill it with water and place two pennies inside. Hang this near any doors where the flies may be coming in. You can also try hanging one in your house I suppose. For some reason the flies seem to avoid this. My family uses these for outdoor parties and such and the flies do stay away. Best of luck with the flies and all else.

MM all I have found that if I keep some unsightly spider webs or cobwebs as most call them, these do a catch all for the flies and the spiders have their own meal.....cost effective too

We get that it the hotter months living in central texas we have cows
what i do is the bag thing and clean with water and vinegar and they do lessen and in about 2 weeks everything is better
I like the fly story though that makes sence I have learned alot in a very short time

My problem now is little pis ants...  any answers???
