Probably a fluke. Lightning goes where it will. I have been very close to stikes twice in my life. The last just a couple of weeks ago. It either hit the shop or the ground very near. I had my hand on the computer mouse, like to have given me a heart attack, lol. Fried the computer modem and my old stereo. Luck had it that the main breaker tripped and saved everything else.
Lightning is probably the most random force in the universe. Even though the old myth that it never strikes the same place twice is still very common.
I am just glad your husband and dog are ok. Electronics and such can be replaced!

By the way, I have heard that wood from a lightening-struck tree makes very powerful wands! You may want to harvest some of that wood before you discard the tree, if it has to come down.

Ladyhawk I am so glad to hear your hubby and dog are ok. I did notice in this post and in a previous one that you have stated your luck has not been good lately. While I have been reading The Secret ( although I did know this before, but am so enjoying it) the frame of mind you are in will bring moreof the same. So if you are putting out there that you have had bad luck lately, you will continue getting it. Focus in the fact that your husband and dog are ok, that is great, also like Annie has said the wood from the tree is powerful, may be it is the universes way of showing you that more power comes from from the fact of the good that hubby is safe.

I would read the book, I have enjoyed it greatly, and even though we know the most of the contents, it helps us put it all in to practice. Instead os looking at the things that are bad, look past them and look at the good, no matter how small.
