Is Your Child an Indigo?

To find out, ask yourself these questions:

Did your child come into the world acting like royalty?
Does your child have a feeling of deserving to be here?
Does your child have an obvious sense of self?
Does your child have difficulty with discipline and authority?
Does your child refuse to do certain things they are told to do?
Is waiting in lines torture for your child?
Is your child frustrated by ritual-oriented systems that require little creativity?
Does your child see better ways of doing things at home and at school?
Is your child a nonconformist?
Does your child refuse to respond to guilt trips?
Does your child get bored rather easily with assigned tasks?
Does your child display symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder?
Is your child particularly creative?
Does your child display intuition?
Does your child have strong empathy for others?
Did your child develop abstract thinking very early?
Is your child very intelligent?
Is your child very talented (may be identified as gifted)?
Does your child seem to be a daydreamer?
Does your child have very old, deep, wise looking eyes?
Does your child have spiritual intelligence?
If you have more than 10 yes answers, he or she probably is an Indigo. If more than 15, almost definitely.

List compiled by Wendy H. Chapman from her own experience with children and information in The Indigo Children: The New Kids Have Arrived by Jan Tober and Lee Carroll.

IS YOUR CHILD AN INDIGO???

If so, this is not a bad thing!! The only difficult part is that they are very misunderstood at this point in time in our culture and therefore may have some difficulty dealing with systems such as the rigidity of the current educational system. Your own recognition of them and understanding of how to interact with them will help! You can teach others how to work with your child for the best effects.

Recognize the Indigo Children are the ones who will help raise the vibration of our planet! These are the ones who will bring us the enlightenment to ascend. Realize that if you are the parent of one of these spirits, you have been given a wonderful, marvelous gift! Feel honored that they have chosen you and help them develop to their fullest Indigo potential.

If you cant explain it simply, you dont understand it well enough.-- Albert Einstein

I still don't know if my son is an Indigo child or not. I do know this, from the day he was borning he has been a handful. At six months old it I was who had to change the way I handle and looked at him. He always had trouble with school, he would correct teachers with they're mistakes, didn't think he had to answer to them, still doesn't. The last year I had him in public school things went from bad to worse, he was always fustrated, and angery. He became closed in. I pulled him from school and this last year I homeschooled him, my way. He's not fustrated any more, he's not angery any more, an it has been a pleasure to really get to know my son, and I think we where able to bond. That was something we didn't do when he was a baby. An it was no fault of his own.

Is he an Indigo? I haven't a clue, is he different? You bet he is. He has been my biggest lesson in life so far. He's a blessing. An so on my other 2 kids. But he is his own.

Both of my children are Indigo children, and it manifests itself in them in different ways, possible because of the gender difference.

I recall a discussion I had with my son some 12 years ago.

When I was pregnant with him, I went to the Circus with my Mother, and my Borther and Sister and her her two girls. Hadn't been back since.

At 4 years old, my son taled to me about the Circus he was at. He discribed in detail all the things that happened, and who was there with us. I told him he hadn't been to the circus, but I was when he was in my tummy, and he said..."I know that Mommy...I crawled up and looked out of your eyes."

I knew from that moment he was a very special child. Was going to be gifted in his own unique ways.

My daughter is gifted in other ways than my son. She is the empathetic one who has few enemys, is looked up to by her peers, and her heart breaks when any one of them is hurting. Just the other night, she asked me if I would mind talking to this one friend of hers, as this friend does not trust her parents as she feels invisable in her own home.

I'm blessed with two very unique and gifted children.

[i]I don't know if my youngest son is indigo or not. I answered yes to at least 11 questions. He is only 8 and we are having a very tough time at school. I asked the teacher why he could explain something to me and I understand it but not her? She said he wasn't explaining the way she wanted him to and I asked her if the answers were the same. said it didn't matter.so.....glad to know i'm not the only one. he is a very special person. and i am definitely glad he chose me to be his mom

All three of my children are indigo. My oldest son is 31 and still exhibits indigo behavior. My middle son is now 21 and my daughter who is 13 still indigo. They are all amazing! All are very talented artists and extreme non-conformists.

Wow. What EarthMother said gave me goosebumps! I have had a similar thing happen to me. At a certain young age I became aware of a memory where I could see my backyard and there was a black cat in the yard. The memory is sort of different from my normal memories because I know I didn't see them through my own eyes. It has a slightly "fish eye" kinda effect to it. Well, I never knew where this memory came from until my mom told me how we had a black cat that died shortly before I was born and it used to hang out in our backyard alot. I am convinced that I saw through my mother's eyes while I was in the womb. It's so crazy.

Was going to be gifted in his own unique ways. ...

My god.. When I was little and my parents were still together, I told them I remembered having been in a car I didn't recognize, (it was totaled before my birth) in the dirve-thru at mcdonalds, with my mom, and we'd got into an accident. The car was ruined, and I remembered my mom being taken to the hospital afterwards.
They laughed, and said that well, my mother had gotten into an accident before I was born, in the very early stages of conception, when my parents still lived in alaska (concieved there but born in ohio), and the accident had been because of her epilepsy. She totaled the car.

They dismissed it as me being odd, and said someone must have told me about it and I had dreamt I was there. But... I never thought it meant anything, I thought I was being stupid. According to that and the fact that just about every answer on the list is yes... I mean, everyone tells me I seem older than I am. And I certainly look young so it must be something else.

What does it mean though? I've had people tell me I'm psychicly very strong and I can empath with people across oceans and countries.. so strong sometimes that if they're angry or depressed I'll be in such intense pain it's hard to ignore it. But.. what does it REALLY mean?

EDIT: To elaborate some, my grandparents always held the belief that I didn't have ADHD. But my doctors insisted I did. I went on every drug on the market at some point in time, and they had me on doses that killed 12 children some time ago. When I was old enough to speak for myself at the doctor's, I asked why he still had me on this medication, and why so much, when it messed with my metabolism and made it so slow that I would not be hungry for days after eating. He said it was good that I wasn't hungry, because I was overweight anyways. I got a different doctor.
I got off the pills but the damage is done, my metabolism will never be normal again and for many years of my childhood and school career I suffered severe mental side effects. Most ADHD medications are stimulants, and when you don't have a disease to treat they really do make you hyperactive.

Anyhow... Every doctor I've seen can diagnose me with a million things. In fact, it seems all they do is put me on more and more drugs. I insist to my mother that I don't need them, and that they're just a way for doctors to take home a fatter paycheck. Which, they are, in all honesty. But, I am 'borderline' everything and each pill the put me on makes something else flare up, its a neverending cycle.

I suppose the answer for society is if you don't recognize it, make up a fancy-sounding disease name and medicate it. A lot.

Well I answered 10 yes for my oldest son and 16 for my oldest girl.  She more so than him acts as though she is royality and always have done.   When my son was in pre- school the teacher was so concerned with him that she rang me to have a very serious meeting with her.  She told me he didn't know his colours, had problems with his writting, recognising letters and the list went on. She got him in the office and started at him with coloured blocks what colour is this, what colour is this.  After a while I stepped in and asked him to hand me the red one, he did, asked for the blue one, he did.  I asked him why wasn't he doing it properly for the teacher and he said "I did the first time and she changed them around and did it again, but I already told her".  So he got bored with it and kept saying the wrong thing.  His writting, he was writting with his left had because he wanted to see if he could.  When he got older he us to think up questions for the religious education teacher - "If god made Adam and Eve and we all came from them then where did the chinese people come from?"  I goes on and after a month of his questions the teacher made a rule that he had to sit at the back of the class and not ask questions.  My son said it was just because the teacher didn't know what to say to the questions.  Mind you some of this may be because of me and the things I read etc.  But I know he thought up the questions and I knew nothing about it until he came home to tell me about being put down the back.  When I went in to the school his class teacher ( not the RE teacher) said he had the RE teacher flustered and he didn't think a child his age should be asking such questions.  He was around 8 at the time.  Now that he is alot older he is still the same and I love that in him.

My girl well she is intuitive, she sees auras, animals ( spirit), she is very empathetic.  She was on the go from a very early age, always in a hurry - walked at 6th months.  Was running at 8 months - rolling unter the fence at 81/2 months and tacking off down the street.  She is very smart, creative.  The list is endless.

All of this keeps life very interesting.

The ones I am curious about are my younger two.
