I never thought to put anything in it! The hole is too small for me to put more than 2 of my fingers into it and I can't set anything inside of it I'd have to drop it and I don't wanna do that. Maybe I'll have to get another one to do and make the hole bigger before I paint and decorate.

How I made it was from stuff I had here and a few things from walmart and the craft store. I went to michael's and picked up a unpainted birdhouse. I found the one you see and I liked the design of it. Picked up some unpainted wooden bit, the circle for the sun, the moons, stars and hearts. They come in little packages on the same isle there. Got some more brushes cause the ones i had at home were for painting small figurines and I needed some bigger ones. Hit the paints ailse and picked up bottles of Apple Barrel Colors craft paint by Plaid. Got a package of these little paint palette things, cause you can't really dip your brush in the bottles so you put a bit of paint into the little wells on the palette thing and it works good. I got a bag of moss, a feathery spool of ribbon, it was different colors and feathery looking.LOL Got a small package of twine. Walmart I hit the florals and bought a few bunches of small fake springtime flowers, pink and purple as you see. I pulled them off the stem to get just the flower part. Went outside to the pine tree and looked around on the ground to find a few good pieces of tree bark. You can't really see it but I drybrushed some light brown color on the house itself to give it a outdoorsy weathered look and drybrushed some blue into the circle and moons. I had some little gems laying around from somewhere and they went into the middle of the hearts. Takes three coats of paint to cover the wood pieces well. I used my trusty glue gun to hot glue the moss onto the roof and around the bottom. Used just a little bit on the cut up ribbon bits and twine and bark and flowers to anchor them in place. Oh and air plants growing on the trees outside too. Picked a few of them for the roof as well. The lettering on the front of the roof slope I did with a fancy letter stencil I picked up for cheap in the sale ailse at the craft store. Lots of good stuff in the ailse. Very Happy It was a bit tricky getting each letter in place next to the other. I dipped a round, flat top brush in paint, blotted it off on a paper towel and then dabbed it inside the letter until it was the darkness of color I wanted it. I know there's a technical name for doing that and I can't think of it right now.

That's it! Let your imagination run wild! I've got myself going again and want to make another one! LOL Thanks for the idea of putting stuff into it Amaris! Smile Can't wait till I have a bit of money to buy another house. *rubs hands together* Everyone should have a faery house in their house or outside if you can put it there.

I have flower, herbs and faeries here.Tells which flowers and herbs they like. Have a faerie encyclopedia that has an A to Z list of all the different kinds of Fae. The website still exists!! Here's the link so you can all print it out or whatever you want to do with it.

Faerie Gods

Got a list entitled Faerie Elements that I'll do a post on if anyone wants. Also have some misc. info on the Fae if anyone wants that as well.

Ok, that's it for now I guess. Very Happy

blessings freedom, i too recieved messages from that realm. from my the book of shadows, she is a water type fairy, that sits near a lake, deep within the forest. she is believed to have very long hair. it is a possibility that she was once married, and had children. she might be one of the desendents, of the lake maiden type of fae. from the astral plane of the fairy realm, she sends messages in dreams. Very Happy

thankyou galenafaolan for your additional information about the meanings of different types of faries. Very Happy

Is anyone else carrying a heel of bread in their pocket on walks outside, or is it just me? Some say that it can keep them at bay when they're feeling mischievious.

*the book of shadows*

Very Happy yes, that is correct, they are called the guardians, they are userally the ones who carry the fairy dust, and whenever it is used, it only wipes out the astral memory from the astral journey, that may reveal the secret enterance, of the fairy realm. they have been doing this sort of thingy flawlessly, for many years & generations.

Thanks for all the info. Galeana. I think it would be a really kewl ideal if those of us that do decide to make a faerie home had a forum or somewhere where we could post pics to show each other. I am going to try and start one this week. Not too big but I think it would be fun to put a few 'wee' beds or something in it. Think the faeries would get a 'kick' out of it. How about we start another thread for our faerie houses and exchange ideas and pics? Anyone interested? We could even give ourselves say ..2 weeks to work on them and then share our pics and results. What do you think Lady Elaine????

I've got a couple stories. One time I had my bank card in a plastic sleeve I guess you could call it and $10.00 in with it. I placed it on the arm of my chair and left momentarily. When I returned it was gone. I thought it might have dropped but I couldn't find it anywhere. THen I read in a book to write down a certain name (starts with a B but I can't remember it right now). This is the faerie's name. You catch this faerie by waving it in the air and then snap the paper shut (in half) then proceed to fold it up and tell the fae that you won't let her go till _____ (whatever it is that is lost) is returned. I put the folded paper under the leg of the chair but just as I was doing that...there was my money and bank card! It wasn't there before because it was one of the first places I looked. So of course, once it was returned, I opened up the paper, thanking her and letting her go. It seems to always work for me so far. Even worked for a friend of mine who lost important school papers.

Another story...at our old home where I used to live a faerie ring appeared in my front yard. I warned my dh to not cut the grass because it was there. He said he'd just cut around it. Well I guess they didn't like that compromise as everytime he tried to cut the grass...the lawnmower either wouldn't work, or the blade would break on something before he got to the front yard (he'd start in the back). It took a week before the ring disappeared and miraculously, the lawnmower worked fine and got the blade replaced (the third time) lol!

I love the fae house! It's beautiful! I think perhaps maybe if I get one, I'm going to take the roof off so I can put things inside for the fae. Smile

wow, thankyou for sharing both your stories searune.. the bank card was funny lol i live not too far away from a river bank, it is only a few minutes walk from the park, where i sometimes go, to meditate and relax. one day, i was taking a walk in the park, and i noticed this circle ring-like patch of grass. it was the only area that butterflies were flying around in that area. a clear sign that faries were around. if anyone come across the fairy circle, it mustin be distrubed. the faes would try anything to protect their home, or else they may become mischivious. always be kind and honest to them. I have a friend who actually spotted a faerie ring at a farm and found there two four-leaf clovers.

Ah, fairies. Smile In grade nine I visited a willow dryad on a regular basis. She was my friend when others were left astray. Also, when I lived at my aunt's house, I would see glowing balls of light and hear beautiful music.

Wow, very interesting about the gowing balls of light & music. Hmm.. just recently, I was helping some of my close friends move into their new home, and as I looked outside the bedroom window, I've noticed this plant, that is known to attract faries.. I can't think up the name, but it looks like a pink flower, (almost bell shape) with a long green stim, and at the bottom within the soil, is a ring of green leafs.. anybody have an idea? Wink

My sister made one of cinamon sticks and put bells in the window and a small ball hanging down for them to swing on.
I haven't made mine yet but have the cinamon sticks. I have a fairy also. I first saw its shadow flitting around and when I shined the flashlight, it was gone. I have only seen it out of the corner of my eye . It was on my arm one day and not thinking put myohter hand on it but it flew away. I see it as a quick streak once in awhile. I have a large plaster wind on my wall. It's supposed to be a bird feeder but I think that is where the fairy is. I love your fairy house too.

Every journey begins with your heart. Remember the knowledge of the ancients and keep it within your soul until you find the path to your truth.listen to the music.

That Fairy house is lovely!

My youngest and I made one out of a gourd. It was a good way to spend time together.

My daughters love to put offerings in a spot of my garden I dedicated to the fairy's.
Its under a dwarf Japanese Maple tree, and I have a arch of drift wood there along with all of my most loved tiney delicate bulbs and flowers. We leave cream and honey there and anytime I make a bread for a feast & what ever else we are feasting on I leave some of it out there as well.

I dont think they are to crazy about our dog, so when I want to sit with the purpose of connecting with there energy I have to make her stay in the house...
I have not seen any but I do feel them..
