Hello All,
I have this beautiful old maple tree in my front yard. It has two trunks that have fused to make one tree. It's always been special to me because of this.. sort of a "two become one" type of thing. Symbolizing me and my true love so to speak.
This tree is absolutely FULL of big black ants. Maybe "carpentar ants".
I've always heard these ants cause damage to wood and I'm afraid that they are killing my tree!
The trunk is showing signs of disease. It has big dark holes that look like dead spots in it already.
How do I get rid of those ants and save my tree?
I know the ants are part of nature too, and I hate to kill them. But, I really love my tree and don't want to lose it.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you all for your help...
