Im sorry i havent been around lately.  I finally finsihed my training here at fort gordon.
Im going to fort hood, texas on thursday for my duty station,
then its off to afghanistan for a year in june.  How sad haha.

So, how's everybody been?

Good Luck to you, Fate.  Take care of yourself over there.  We will be thinking of you and keeping a light in the window of the castle.

Well, you've definitely got all the spiritual support you could possibly get.  Needless to say, I will have you in my thoughts and prayers.  (Protecting myself first, of course.)    

My nephew did a tour there a couple of years ago.

I think while i'm over there I want to do a detailed study on Islam.
I mean,
I think it would be interesting =]
but im not trying to put myself at risk for anything.

I also want to see if I cant get any herbs or rare trinkets over there.

Fate, one thing I want to warn you, as a recovering Muslim, PLEEEEASE don't let Muslims get in the way of your study of Islam!  If you study it for knowledge don't ask someone who thinks women should be subjugated, because that's NOT what Qur'an, the holy book, says.  Don't listen to people who say one thing and do another.  If you study it seriously for yourself, may Allah bless you, but may you not end up like so many hypocritical American Muslims that choose bits and pieces but leave out the important stuff.  Kay?

I will definitely take that into consideration.

I have actually been reading the Qur'an, not as to add into my beliefs,
but more as to understand the concept of reality for the fanatical and hypocritical beliefs that people misconstrew.
I see the religion itself is very peaceful.

I have to see what I can get out of it,
because of the team I am on, I will be working directly with the populous.
I have to learn customs and courtesies as well.

But I wish not to worry you, miss.

I'm just like the many of other followers,
my beliefs differ from my experiences and from what i've learned from wisdom.
Knowledge is power,
but wisdom is pure.

And I can assure you, I only want to do good for this world,
and since we're on the topic, for this war.
